I will always write 'none' when someone does not send press. If you see a country heading that is completely empty, that means I failed to put in the press. Here are the Spring results. France will be back on the 12th. Germany is leaving on the 10th. Hopefully I get Germany's Fall moves before he leaves. Then I can mail Fall as soon as I hear from France. Germany will be gone 2 weeks. Do we want to postone the game till he returns, or let a sub fill in till he returns. Let me know your preference. Germany, we could also keep things moving if you sent in conditional builds/disbands with your Fall moves. England ------- -> Germany: Now that is cryptic press If I have ever seen any. It looked like you asked my to support you into Finland, then you would support me into St Petersburg. Fine with me. Also, I will try to keep my fleets out of the North Sea, mainly so that it will keep you trusting. (You notice that I haven't used the North Sea since you asked me not to. I even built on the other side of England so that I wouldn't need to use the North Sea.) How about fall of this turn, you support me into St. Petersburg, and I will vacate Belgium, probably to Picardy, and allow you to move into Belgium? (Assuming France hasn't move into Picardy.) -> Russia: If you hadn't looked like you were collapsing, I wouldn't have moved against you, but I don't want a Turkey the size she would be if she ate all of Russia, so I decided I wanted a piece for myself. Sorry. -> Italy: France didn't even disband her unit in Piedmont. Do you really trust her press? (Then again Turkey is howling, so maybe you can trust France.) Just don't trust Turkey. -> Austria: Hang in there. Germany and I putting pressure on Russia will take some of the pressure off you. And maybe Italy will worry about France? -> Turkey: Still talking peace and non-aggression to Russia? Don't you think he is ignoring your blathering by now? -> France: It is your own fault that I am after you. I tried for peace and alliance between our nations. And I wouldn't worry about Turkey, he says he is your enemy, so he won't touch you, but if he starts saying he is your friend, then you really have to worry. France ------ France -> England: You offered me nothing. You talked around the issue, as did I, because you weren't sure what would shake out. Check the press. France -> Italy: I meant what I said. A stab is made to take supply centers away and threaten another country. That is NOT what I'm doing. No one is pressuring Germany, so I had to do it. Needless to say, if Germany is allowed free reign, everyone is threatened. I don't think I can be any more clear. France -> Russia: Really appreciate the support. At least now, I can have 2 pieces on Munich which will hopefully be troubling for the Kaiser. If you move into Warsaw, how about some cooperative efforts against Germany? I know you're pretty busy in the north...let's see how this turn shapes up. Germany ------- Germany -> All: I'm extremely sorry for this Larry, and all you other anonymous competetives. I know that I have disturbed the game. I hope you forgive me. It can't happen again. As a piece of information I should say to all of you that it's me, who is going on vacation. I will probably be back in the last week of July. I'm ruling around a little this year. Hope that you don't get angry, but after all is that the funniest part of playing Germany. Germany -> Turkey: No, I don't belive a word of what you are saying. False as water. I hope that you don't disagree about what I did to Russia. If we go for elimination of Russia you will get Moscow, and I prefer to give up Warsaw before letting you have Moscow. After all is this exactly what you meant with your press. Even in Diplomacy most people hesitate to do too vulgar things. It seems that the kind everyday personality is in the Diplomacy mind too. Why not take that as an evidence that the human being is good after all. But that doesn't mean that I don't like your style. Quite the opposite. I'm full of admiration and actually a little jealous, and I think that many of the others agree. Don't read the press below. I say so much ugly things about you, and I want you to know that I think that you are a good guy after all. Germany -> England: Fortunately it reached you that I want your fleet to support me into Finland, in order to disband the fleet, and finish this rather cumbersome manouver in the Baltic. You wrote that I should decide which unit I wanted to attack St Petersburg. I want you to support my finnish fleet into St Petersburg. If the Russian fleet has been destroyed, this will mean that only two units are necessary to get St Petersburg. In that case I will go with my GoB-fleet to Sweden. But only if it's sufficent with the norwegian army to support me into St Petersburg, of course. Although I trust you about this, I don't want to take any risks. You shouldn't see a single fleet bordering your territories as an agression towards you. After all, I can't hurt you this way. In any case, (again), support my finnish fleet into St Petersburg. In my "press" there's an ambiguity. It says that your ownership of St Petersburg can be temporary only. The intention was that it should have a continuation, saying that it's possible to move it further south. But this is of course a matter of negotiotiation. Then we'll have to talk about my fleets, but I think that's a minor problem. (I have changed the plans anyway, General of this area as I am. See below.) I havn't got an answer about what you said about moving fleets in and out of North Sea. If you agree to keep North Sea empty and build all fleets in Liverpool unless anything special occurs, I am willing to not going back to Denmark or into Skagerrak. Please response! Now to the difficult parts. I do not expect you to have left Belgium in the fall. But at least you should try to make some space there. It makes your fleet and my armies useless or weaker. It's too much for me to cover all possible positions after the spring moves, so I let you take care of this. I'll try to do my best on my part of it, and I know that I can trust you about the naval side of it. We'll have to agree about the northern part of our territory. I do need a build more than you do this fall, and I have to be sure to get it. I also think that St Petersburg should be yours rather than mine, but please support my finnish fleet into St Petersburg. This will mean that you can stay in Belgium without hurting me. I will only need one build, so I can agree to leave Belgium open when you move to the English Channel or Picardy. I think it will be possible (and desireable) to exchange St Petersburg and Belgium later in the game without any serious truble . (I really do not like your army in Norway.) All of the above is valid if this doesn't happen in this spring: Consider that Russia can't defend Warsaw and Moscow by himself, (that is standing in Moscov and in Ukraina means that he can defend them), from a Turkish attack from Sevastopol and Ukraina. That will mean that Russia has to be eliminated or supported soon. I can't do that with a fleet, so your army is necessary, and I will in that case support you into St Petersburg. Hopefully this will not happen, but I want to cover this situation too. The reason for this and to leave Warsaw alone, is to deny Turkey a quick expansion north. I hope that this is the right way to do it, but of course I can't be sure. Germany -> Austria, Italy and Russia: Turkey forgot to tell us what Calhamer said more. He said that it is winning the game that counts only. Consider that. Germany -> Russia: Well, hrmmm, eh, in some way Turkish press makes some sense. I don't think that it's good for anyone (including Turkey) to attack Austria. You stand in Warsaw and Moscow now. Will you please try to hold these centers! In some way you should destroy,(we are helping you right now) and leave Vienna, (help will come), if you have any intentions of survival. But if you do that, you will have a fair chance of survival without necessarily being a puppet, and expand further south. Germany -> Austria: I hope that I have scared Russia so he doesn't bother you any more in Galicia. In the fall I will support your army into Vienna. Of course it is because I want you to survive and kill that misplaced Vienna unit. Further it is because I don't think Turkey has any intentions of helping you getting back your land alone. It too much work. Do you remeber that Turkey didn't support you when Russia was about to take Budapest. He said something like "... we couldn't have done much about it anyway..." when he showed that it was more important to punish Russia for attacking you instead of helping you. And it was more well paid too. If Turkey wants us to belive anything he writes, he should help you and not invent some of his slimy blathering verbosity. But remember that this is a one season offer only. You won't get it again! Germany -> France: Probably it's only a matter of opinion on what we think of is an aggression. But at least I think it is aggressive to support oneself into Burgundy and sneak around Schweiz to kill human beings! Shame on you! I'm lucky I haven't been at war with anyone yet, but if I have to I have to. Further, it was necessary for me to support ME into Burgundy. If I had let you go to Burgundy you would have been in Ruhr by now. I consider that to be an act of pure self defence. The same with my move this spring. I'm sure that you would go to Picardy if I let you free. Isn't that aggressive? Why are you attacking me in the first place? Isn't England attacking you more than I do, and you haven't blamed him? I'm so disgusting kind to everone! My mother always said that I was too kind. I can't do anything but self defence! Ah, I'm a failure! I have never wanted any war with you, but if England wants to eat you I won't interfere. And that is what I fear the most. Being eaten! At least he wont take me now, and of course I must do something to avoid being crushed by him, ecspecially when you was so eager to get into Burgundy. Can you please explain why you showed such an interest in Burgundy and not wanted to get Germany. Not because of my press I hope? Still I don't want to attack you. Unfortunately I have to disturb Burgundy again. Hopefully you support the Burgundy army to hold. I have to be certain that you don't move to Picardy, which would put me and England in trouble. I'm not happy about it, but I have to. About being slimy. Why not count broken promises instead. You will get two broken promises I think. How many will Turkey get? I won't bother counting them, but it might be interesting. Especially if you count the explanations to every broken promise he has made. Or perhaps every sudden alliance everybody has made without asking the other player. Germany -> Italy: You don't belive France. I do. I take him very seriously. He can be a serious threat if he's lucky. Will you still let Austria bleed that way? I don't think that you will be able to go any further. I do not consider Tyrolia and Piedemont neutral zones. They are transit zones. So if you hear your DMZ-bell ringing and its me who is walking on your soil, you know what I'm after. Or rather, you'll see it on my other units. Don't see my help to Austria as anything hostile towards you. I'm not in a position to attack anyone at the moment. Something just had to be done with Vienna. Italy ----- Italy -> Austria: Hoser??? Now it is fight to the death! (By the way, what does hoser mean?) (GM note: hoser (n) - person who is hosed or acts in a hosed up manner. Hope that helps.) Italy -> Germany: I should have built a fleet in Venice, but I didn't want to provoke Turkey )-: Italy -> France: I am glad to see that you corrected your error. Italy -> Turkey: Do you really want to be my enemy? Russia ------ Russia - World: Ahh Spring, the time when a young man's thoughts turn to PAYING BACK ALL THE THIEVING GITS WHO'VE STABBED 'IM IN THE BLOODY BACK. Russia - France: Well, I hoped you've proved your honorable intentions by taking the Piedmont - Tyrolia move; since it's not bloody likely that you're in a position to take Munich this turn, I recommend that you move to Bohemia in the fall. This will be far more effective since now Germany has to waste time trying to deal with a French army moving into his soft underbelly, so to speak. Russia - Italy: OBVIOUSLY, I'm not in much of a position to attack Austria anymore, and, need I point out, you're rapidly facing the same fate. I hope you took a chance and went for one or more of his supply centers. It's a gamble, but if it pays off, you're in fine shape. Russia - Turkey: Yeah right. Russia - England, Germany: If you managed to sneak into St. Pete this turn PLEASE let it have happened with Gulf of Bothnia Russia - All: I just love spring. Turkey ------ Turkey -> France: Well, you sure showed me. Disbanded Picardy instead. Looks like your front is stronger than I thought. Please excuse my erroneous analysis of your situation. BTW, I've really enjoyed bashing you in the press. Nothing personal, just gave me something to do while I sit in my corner and misbehave. Turkey -> England: Looks like you don't trust me. But then again, I don't think anyone does. I like to see games where the wicked witches cooperate, and I hope my screwing around down here won't preclude us from working together should the opportunity arise in the future. Turkey -> Germany: Whew! I am going to have to pass the "confusing press" crown to you. You beat me out last time. Anyway, I admire your successful campaigns. I hope you get that bug out of your press editor. Turkey -> Austria: OK. I think Russia is going to cooperate. I hope things were successful this spring. Italy is starting to distrust me. I would like to form a three way alliance with the two of us and one of Russia/Italy. The problem is: If it is Italy, you and Italy have to make amends, and if it is Russia, Russia and I have to make amends. Maybe one of them will speak up and join us. Right now, it looks to me like Russia is the best candidate since Italy is mired in your back and distrusts me. I don't know what else to do with my fleets but ping the Ionian, yet he thinks I want to be his enemy. I have already explained to him what I could do with my fleets instead, but he is rightfully not buying it. If I were him, I wouldn't believe me either. But I was serious about visiting France. I need a vacation. I am leaving Bulgaria vacant just in case things didn't go well in the Balkans. This will give the Serbian army a place to retreat, but hopefully that wasn't necessary. If you were bounced into Bulgaria, I'll try to support you back out to Serbia in the fall. Russia made statements about supporting the French Tyrolia move. This may be an indication that he has finally decided to leave Budapest alone. I sure hope so. That may mean that he has decided to come after me as well as Germany. I hope that he'll leave me alone, but I am due for payback. I have been a SOB to him; I deserve whatever it is he's about to give me. This is the turn that I try to start making good on some of my promises to him. Turkey -> Russia: OK. Let's do business. I did not move A Sev-Mos because I was afraid that I might cut support if you did something with Finland to St. Pete. I consider this to be a friendly act, albeit extremely minor in comparison to my grossly unfriendly acts. I did try to get into Ukrainia though. The reason for this is twofold. First, if you are coming after me, it is vital that you get into Ukrainia in order to support your moves. So my first excuse is defense. My second reason is that, as I said in my press, I want to call off the dogs. My moves this turn were defensive for a change. I wanted to leave you alone and not attack any of your units or potentially cut any support. This gave me a turn to see if you were: a) going to leave Austria alone and b) going to come after me. It also helps to maintain my position if you do come after me. The best thing that could have happened this turn was a standoff in Ukrainia. You may have used your units elsewhere though. At any rate, thanks for leaving Austria alone. Truce. Turkey -> Italy: I don't want to be your enemy. Sure, I pinged the Ionian. What else can I do? The only unfriendly thing that I have done to you is help Austria. But I've done that because you have been unfriendly to him. I do not want open hostility between our two nations. I make a good ally, once the alliance is truly established. Just look at Austria and me. Russia is another story, the alliance was never initiated due to mutual distrust. He and I may yet work something out - I'm offering peace on that front while I figure you out. Your distrust of me is making me think that you and I are getting further and further from an alliance, but I am still willing to give it a go. Make me an offer I can't refuse, Mr. Corleone. I have nothing but respect for your proud country. Turkey -> Italy, Russia: Which one of you want to join the Austrian-Turkish cause for world peace? Don't be shy, speak up and be heard. Inquiring minds want to know! Turkey -> Greenland: Shame on you for writing press! I like being the one that gets the last word!
