"Calm down, no need to get excited," the old man says as you leap off the bed. "I'm here to offer you a job. Now, are you willing to listen or shall I go? Don't be stupid and try anything dangerous. The mission is already dangerous enough without drawing unwanted attention to it." You slowly settle back into you bed and begin to listen. "Thats better. I'd hate to think I'd misjudged you. Now lets get down to business. My name is Salist Luin of RocHaven Castle. You've probably not heard of me, but nevermind that. I've been looking for adventurers willing to take a few risks for a noble cause and a lot of fame and fortune." "I've had my eye on you for a while and, while you are not yet ready to tackle my major objectives, I believe for now you can help me in other ways. What I'm looking for is a group to protect a shipment I'm sending out next month. The payment would be 1000 gold Arcanium Royals up front to help with travel and supplies and another 10,000 upon safe arrival of the ship at its destination. Perhaps once you've proven yourself, so to speak, we can talk of larger matters." The mage leans close and wispers, "Now, are you interested, or are you the type who lets challenges slide by?" ________________________________________________________________________ To play send a character right away, giving standard 1st edition essentials, descriptions, and standard reactions and motives. Sorry, but there is only room for 10 or so people. Players will be given precedence if they send early, but well thought out characters will also be considered. Notes on the game: 1st edition rules, characters and races, with inclusion of spelljammer and some 2nd ed. aspects. Standard as well as oriental and other types of characters allowed. If you have doubts about a class, try me and I'll see what we can do. 1st - 3rd level beginning range. With 1st and 2nd level characters able to have a low powered magic item of +1 value. There are no alignment restrictions, but party bashing will not be looked on nicely by the (all knowing) employer. Emphasis on role playing. If you want a odd class you are expected to role play them believably. Turns will be published 2 or so times a week, when a majority of players give their moves. I would like players who are on line daily and can respond quickly. Stats should be in acceptable levels with only 1 or 2 scores above 17. Those must be evened out by low scores or severe handicaps. Hit points about 2/3 max on average. Carbon copies of all player moves and mail should be sent to me. Players can join other players to form parties but private action is allowed. I will post a followup when this game is filled.
