Having pulled rabbits out of a hat for the previous two years, the French Army is not optimistic about its continued ability to thwart the combined forces of her neighboring opponents, Germany and Italy. Despite the lack of hope, the Emperor and President, Leszczynski, continues to lead his troops in the inspired defense of France. "If we could just get bit of the pressure taken off, France could pos- sibly survive this next onslaught. We look to the neighbors of our two nemises for aid in this manner, for certainly if France were to fall, then they would inevitably be next, and stronger because of our death." So said President Leszczynski to the Free World Press. {++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++} Philip is absent between 21.7 and 6.8. The game will be delayed then. "Our plans were sound," quoted General HalfTraque, "but expected aid from the outside never materialized. We need help now and we need it fast." This final statement an imploration to the other European powers to step in and stop this conflict. DIE OSTERREICHER ZEIT (English Edition) Vienna, Nov 24 1903 -- In a terse statement to the press, Marshall John announced that our nation's armed forces will not be able to put down their arms in the near future. The leader stated that, although a peace accord with the Turkish Sultan had been reached, our eastern border continues to be disputed. In response to one reporter's question, the Marshall said, "Our nation remains in grave danger from the east. The threat is no longer the Turkish state, however: the Turkish Sultan and I have reached an accord which is beneficial to both parties, and which respects the sovereignty of our respective lands. We are now threatened by a far larger and more serious opponent, in the form of the Cossack warriors of Russia." Marshall John added that his staff has appealed to all friendly nations to join Austria in its attempt to stem the tide of Russian aggression into Europe proper. Marshall John refused to give further details of the latest eastern border crisis, but a high-level member of his staff who asked to remain anonymous said, "It is not merely that the Russian forces outnumber all others on the continent; that alone would cause for concern. But the real danger is that the Russian Empire stretches from the North Sea to the Black Sea, touching on almost all the nations of Europe. With so many possible points of entry into Europe, the Russian Bear's danger is multiplied manifold. He has the luxury of seeking out weak points in our collective defenses, say one nation having poor relations with most or all of its neighbors. Once he has found such a weak spot, he can concentrate his assault there without fear of a collective protest. The victim's neighbors will only be all too happy to see their cousin die at the Russian's hand. In this way, the Bear can eliminate us one by one until we no longer have the means of resisting. A collective response is the only proper one to such a collective threat. We hope that our brothers in England, Germany and Turkey will recognize this threat and act accordingly. The response thus far from all three has been promising." EMPIRE REACHES CRITICAL MASS! UNCONTROLLABLE CHAIN REACTION UNLEASHED! ([C[C(Novosibirsk): Top scientists at the Developmental Weopons Institute have revealed that the meteoric growth of the Russian empire at the turn of the century has catastrophically climaxed in critical mass at seven supply centers. The impending explosion will likely send large pieces of the empire spiralling outwards into the lands of our four immediate neighbors and even across the North Sea into Great Britain. The chain reaction began when all diplomatic control rods were simultaineously ejected from the Greater European Dialogue. It is unknown when or if stability of the empire might be regained, but the worst is expected. {++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++} Deadline for retreats is 20. 8. Who it was that performed the coup has not yet been determined. It is believed that the coup was a direct result of the declining fortunes of the Peoples' Republic in the last two years and the unrest this caused that led to last nights takeover. (Glasgow) Fugh Lus Croughs delivered his long awaited announcement on the "Space Frenz". Said Fugh, "Friends, reporters, and government spys. We are gathered here today to rejoice in the recent victory of the sillies in Glasgow. To help celebrate our victory, our space frenz have promised to deliver the head of our most ferocious enemy, the heathen Sultan of the Turks, to us in a bowl of electric jello. Here is the supreme commander of the..." [applause drowned out rest of speech]. As Fugh turned around, the canopy above collapsed on the platform, followed shortly by the entire stage. Dozens of Silly officials were taken to hospital, including Fugh. Said one Silly organized, "It's blaten sabotage, pure and simple." (Instanbul) While walking amongst his subjects in the Shadow of St. Sofias, the grand Sultan was accosted by a flock of pigeons that "let go" all over his holy personage. (Late Breaking Story - Istanbul) Strange lights have been reported all around Sultans grand palace in the old city of Constantinople. Fires have been reported and gunfire has been heard. The whereabouts of the Sultan are not known. (AP/UPI) If this reporter remembers correctly, there were Scottish accusations early on in the war that Turkey and its Sultan were being controlled by Aliens (or were aliens, I can't remember). Some of these same lunatics have come to the front again, saying that now that the Aliens have tasted defeat they have left the planet (taking the Sultan with them). These same loonies say that the resulting power vacuum is the cause of the nations current problems. This reporter thinks that they are all just being very silly. (UPI) The new Grand Sultan of The Ottoman Empire promises to kick out all the invading forces from the historical lands of the Empire. ======================================================================== ======================================================================== ================= OZARK ================= Winter'05 Results ================= Germany builds A Mun, F Kie Russia builds A War, F StP(nc) Italy builds A Rom Turkey disbands A Alb France disbands A Gas, F GOB, F WMed ============== final postions ============== Austria: none Russia: A Con A Arm A Bud A Tri A Rum A Ser A Bul A War F Bla F Swe F Iri F StP(nc) Turkey: A Gre F Tun F Aeg Italy: A Pie A Ven A Rom F Mar F Nap F Smy France: none England: A Wal A Nor F Liv F Nth F Por Germany: A Par A Hol A Bel A Tyr A Mun F Bre F Den F Kie ============== supply centers ============== Austria: (0) Russia: StP Mos War Sev Swe Rum Bud Vie Tri Ser Con Bul (12) Turkey: Ank Gre Tun (3) Italy: Ven Rom Nap Spa Mar Smy (6) France: (0) England: Edi Lon Liv Nor Por (5) Germany: Kie Ber Mun Den Hol Bel Bre Par (7) Spring '06 turns will be due on Friday 24th, at 3pm my time. ===== PRESS ===== (UPI/Ankara): HELP (AP/Munich) The German High Council, after hearing of the insidious French trechery, took decisive steps in wiping them off the map. In a stunning announcement this morning, Foreign Minister Victoria Stone announced the immediate resignation of Prime Minister Lord Ashford. Citing personal reasons in a later statement, Lord Ashford, in a joint session of Parliament, made his apologies for his sudden departure from public life. The Queen regretfully accepted the resignation of Lord Ashford and wished him the best in his future endeavours. A government source remarked that Lord Ashford had accepted an offer to lecture in the United States of America at a large California university. At press time, this rumour has not been confirmed. Stone, the senior Cabinet member under Ashford, also called for an immediate vote among the Tories to select the new PM. Ashford's departure is surprising considering his relatively long tenure in office and the high favourability rating he has received over the last years. The stock of the Tory party has risen in conjunction with Ashford's popularity. Stone also vowed to continue the fight with the French and remarked that the German alliance would stand firm against the face of all opposition. The Tories are scheduled to meet in January 1904 in a special meeting. Constantinople - The Sultan invited all foreign diplomats and various other important personages to a wine-and-goat'smilk-cheese party celebrating his recent successful invasion of Kuwait. To his other too-numerous-to-mention titles he has now added "Liberator of Small Countries". On his to-do list for the near future, he includes Brunei, Liechtenstein and Rwanda. When he jokingly added "And Austria" in his after-dinner speech, he was quickly hushed by his advisors. [Rome] - In a statement to the Press, the King said that the campaign in France was progressing nicely and that soon French cooking would be just a pleasent memory. The King also stated that the crimes of the godless Turks had not gone unnoticed and now that France was subdued, the Turks could be dealt with. [Vatican] - The Pope today sent a Papal task force to join the Italian fleet in the Tyrainean Sea. From there the force will proceed to Turkey where they will attempt to bring the Turks under the banner of Christianity. [Venice] - The first Italian Army will be moving into Trieste to take over the responsibility of stewardship from the Germans. The hope is that the residents of Trieste would feel more at ease with the Italians than with the Germans.
