PBeM Game Starting: ShadowRun From: gaynor@hpuxa.ircc.ohio-state.edu (Jim Gaynor) Date: Tue, 11 Sep 1990 19:57:40 +0000 "Buzz, chummers," the squatter spat at the two shapes crouching in the alleyway as he staggered back from the StufferShack. "That's my squat. Getcher own two square," he repeated as the two shapes refused to move. One of the shapes groaned, and the other kneeled close to it. "Didja hear me, drek?," the bum shouted, "I said thats my -" The kneeling shape spun and the squatter found himself shouting down the barrel of a gun. A very large gun. "Leave us," the kneeling shape said. "Now." The squatter stared for a moment at the polished gun steel of the Ares Predator II, and at the lightly glowing red eyes of the shape holding it, then took off screaming down the alley. "He gone, Walker?" asked the shape on the ground weakly. "He's gone," Walker replied. "Didjou get the number of the tank that hit me?" Walker smiled. "A tank would have known better than to double-cross us, Laughing Man. It's only you and I now, but Senmai paid his price. Now we had best be moving. You are dire need of medical attention, my friend." Walker moved to pick up the other shape. "No, it's too late for that, Walker. I left half my guts back with those corpers, and I'll leave the rest on the alley right here if I try to move." Laughing Man coughed, blood trickling from his mouth. "You get gone, Walker, the Wolf will care for me," he gasped. As Laughing Man spoke, the shadow of a great wolf came over him, and for a moment Laughing Man stood in front of Walker, hale and whole. The glowing image of the shaman tilted its head back and laughed, and the spectre's mirth gladdened Walker, until the image faded and all that was there was Laughing Man's dead body. Walker nodded once over the corpse before it collapsed into dust. Standing up, the street samurai looked down to the entrance of the alley, where voices were beginning to congregate, led by the voice of the squatter Walker had frightened away. Walker's face was set, and the red cybereyes betrayed nothing of his soul. "You still haven't paid -my- price, Senmai," Walker muttered before disappearing into the alley's shadows. *** SHADOWRUN PBEM GAME OPENING *** GM will be using as reference materials: o ShadowRun rulebook o Street Samurai Catalog o The Grimoire o Sprawl Sites Sourcebook o Seattle Sourcebook You must have: o ShadowRun rulebook o The Grimoire (only if you choose to run a character that can use magic) o All others are optional What you need to send to me: * Via Email, with the word ShadowRun in the subject, send: o Your character.
