Interesting... Take Warsaw, take Warsaw!! I am going to move A Pie - Tyr next fall. I am not going to attack Munich, I am attacking Trieste as soon as I get my fleet to the Adriatic. France -> Turkey: If you have no better ideas could you attack Trieste next fall. It would cut support if Italy tries to move A Vie - Tyr. England -> All: It is very moving to see so much support for my drive for victory, but jeez, this is too much. Come on guys! By now there should be a concerted stop-the-leader alliance. Get your act together! You are taking all the fun out of the win... England -> GM: sigh. Italy -> Whoever is voting against a solo victory Give it up! It's over! Italy -> Russia Bye bye Warsaw .... Bye bye Tunis ... sigh ... I will assume RUMANIA->BULGARIA unless I hear differently in your Summer Press. Russia -> England Ok, fine..... Maybe you will be able to support me in taking back Sevestapol if I lose it. I will be moving Warsaw to UKR next turn. I left him there last turn as I wasn't clear on your intentions (not that one army could have stopped anything). I'm planning on renewing my Turkish campaign. I didn't like losing Bulgaria much, so I plan to get it back real soon!. Turkey to All:: The old Sultan is dead. Long Live the New Sultan. Yes, sadly, the old Sulatan met with a most unfortunate accident. Tragic, even. Yes. So, it is my duty to inform the other Powers that all existing Treaties, Agreements, Plans, and the like are hereby Null and Void. -Speaker to Infidels (for the Sultan) Turkey to France:: Greetings, infidel. We wish to state our intention to openly ally with France, in an effort to stave off what appears to be a likely English victory. We will attempt to dispose of the Russian beast on our way to eating dates in Buckingham Palace. Depending on Italy's attitude, they might (regrettably) need to be wiped off the face of the earth before the invevitable Franco-Turkish victory. Turkey to Russia:: Begone, infidel. Perhaps it would be wise for us to arrange peace so that you can do something about the English in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Berlin, Sweden. I am open to offers, conditional on your immediate withdrawal from Bulgaria and Armenia. Turkey to England:: British perfidy is well-known to the followers of Allah, the most Excellent. However, you may state your case. Turkey to Italy:: Hrrumph, infidel. What are you doing in Austria? Why is my fleet in Trieste? What is going *on* here? I must consult my notes...Ah. Well, we offer you an open mind. My first priority is to dispose of this Russian menace; your neutrality (or support) would be appreciated. Might it not be wise for you to cooperate with France (and I) against England? The answer is, "yes, it would..." =============================================================================== Results from DRESDEN =============================================================================== GM is Ted Fischer / tedward@cs.cornell.edu DRESDEN: Fall 1907 ---England----------------------------------Germany---------------------------- A DEN H |A KIE - Ber FAIL A Lvp - EDI |A RUH S (A Mun H) A NWY H |A MUN S (A Ber - Sil) CUT (Tyl) F NWS S (A Lvp - Edi) CUT (NAt) |A Ber - Sil FAIL (Disband) F NTS S (F Lon - Ech) |F Bel - HOL F Lon - ECH |---Austria---------------------------- ---France-------------------------------|A BUL S (A Con H) A Par - Bre CUTS (Disband) |A CON S (A Bul H) ---Italy--------------------------------|A TYL - Mun CUTS (2:2) A GAS S (A Bur - Par) |A VIE H A Bur - PAR |A SIL S RUS (A Pru - Ber) A Pie - MAR |A TRI H F BRE S (F Mid - Ech) CUT (Par) |A BOH S (A Tyl - Mun) F NAT - Nwg CUTS |F AEG H F IRI S (F Cly - Lvp) |---Russia----------------------------- F Cly - LVP |A RUM H F MID - Ech FAIL (1:2) |A Pru - BER ---Turkey-------------------------------|A ARM - Ank BOUNCE (Bla) F BLA - Ank BOUNCE (Arm) |A StP - FIN ----------------------------------------|A SEV H --------------------------------------- French A Par cannot retreat to a supply center, and so must disband. PETERSBURG GOES SKIING RUSSIAN SNEAK ATTACK SUCCEEDS SULTAN SEEN IN 5 PLACES ON TUESDAY!!!! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Kaiser today denied the press reports from Russia that he had insulted the Czar in Lord Dan's banquet. "We were not even present at the party!" he blurted. "The affair is simply a Russian provocation because she needed an excuse to invade us with Lord Dan." At the end of his press conference he asked help from England and Italy. "We know that they are at war but we hope that they would find ways to stop that useless war and come to the aid of Germany before it is too late. After Germay is dead they would be the next victims of Austro-Russian imperialism. Specifially, Italy's help in the defence of Munich would be greatly appreciated." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IRP (Imperial Russian Press) September 1907 As both the Czar and Lord Dan decided to attack Germany, the German resistance will be broken soon. Even if Italy doesn't support Austria against Munich, there is still the possibility that Lord Dan supports our move into Berlin. The Kaiser has only a 50% chance to guess the correct move and will fall sooner or later. If we can't take Berlin this year, we will try again and again. This tactic has worked against Ankara and should also work against Berlin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IRP (Imperial Russian Press) September 1907 The garrisoning army from St. Petersburg went skiing in Finland for the winter. The harbor will be used to build a fleet to attack Germany meanwhile. The English King can be assured that the army will move back in Spring next year, and that the fleet will be built on the southern coast and is no threat to him. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hungarian Herald (Sept 26, 1907) Together, Lord Dan and the Czar of Russia combined forces for a sneak assault on Berlin. The result was the total suprise of the German forces. Lord Dan commented, "We got word that the Kaiser had been reading the Austrian and Russian headlines, so we planted some phony press for him to read, and then hit him where he wasn't lookin. High Five Czar. Munich will be Austrian in the spring of 08. The Austrian army in Tyrolia has been seiging it for over a year now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Turkish Crier: That man of the world, our beloved Sultan was sighted at 5 different locations in greater Europe Tuesday. ANN the Austrian News Network broadcast his "execution" live during prime time. Early indicators show that this will become the highest rated show in Austrian history. Hours after this event the "Sultan" was seen dining with members of the PPP in Paris. Expert analysts claim a possible drug-terrorism alliance. Earlier in the day, there was word out of Moscow that the Sultan had been apprehended in Rumania and would be "shot then tried" by a fair jury. In another possible move on the drug front, the Sultan was reported in Sicily conferring with the local mafioso and possibly setting up a government in exile. Finally, in what the Crier believes is the truth about the most holy one, it is rumored that he was able to escape the clutches of the Austrians and Russians and is now leading the first fleet in an attempt to regain his summer palace in Ankara. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GM Notes: What action! What adventure! Autumn press is due Wednesday, unless somebody really wants an extension. Winter builds will be due Friday. As always, check me for mistakes. I do these moves without a map, you know, so I sometimes get confused. Cheers!
