He has not been seen since and is presumed dead. Meanwhile the Russian armies rushed south to kick the last remaining Turkish fleet out of Rumania. Troops from the Ukraine will retake Rumania, while garrisons in Sevastopol and Ankara will keep those harbors save. Help from Lord Dan will probably not be needed, but Austria should protect its harbors on the Black Sea also. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IRP (Imperial Russian Press) December 1906 Rumors spread by the PPP that after the fall of Turkey Russia would be next on Lord Dan's list were forcefully denied by the Czar. He said: "Lord Dan is a very good friend of Russia without whom we would not have survived our holy war with Turkey and the German and English invasion. As soon as the last Turkish ship is sunk, we will both demilitarize the border region and negotiate further progress. As statements from Lord Dan have been sparse in the last time, we will have to wait. The situation in Germany is highly unclear, as there is no declaration of war from any side while the Kaiser seems to prefer a turtle shell tactic. We can't interfere before being asked to help by Lord Dan. Also the relations between Austria and Italy are not known to me." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Swiss International Winter 1906 Reporters of all European papers fear unemployment. The reason for this is the growing press tiredness of all European Heads of State. Press statements have become sparse, short and boring. The editor wants to thank the PPP for their continuous effort against this boredom and urges the European leaders to speak to the world. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hungarian Herald (Dec 26, 1906) SULTAN CAPTURED!! Lord Dan announced in a press conference today that the one time Sultan of Turkey had been captured in Austia's last offensive into Smyrna. Lord Dan said that the Sultan will finally get his wish and is currently being held in a high security prison in Vienna. Lord Dan called out the Vienna Militia for security purposes. The Sultan is to get an "quick but fair" trial for the war crimes he commited against the peoples of Greece, Bulgaria, Rumania, Russia and Austria. The last renegade Turkish fleet has been surrounded off the coast of Rumania and will soon be scuttled. As the Russians move in to resecure Rumanian soil, the Austrians will be maintaining their positions until AFTER the scuttling of the Turkish fleet on the "off chance" that some escape and seek refuge in Austrian holdings. At the Sultan's request a few years earlier for having a party in Vienna, all European leaders have been invited to attend a party on June 26, 1907 at the House of DAN. Please RSVP to Lord Dan.. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GM NOTES: I've been having problems reaching Austria. They seem to be solved now. My phone number, FYI, is (607) 272-0884. I can usually be reached there between 11pm and midnight (EST). Spring 1907 orders are due Wednesday, October 4. PRESS: SULTAN LIVES!!!!! CZAR FACES PEACE DIVIDEND HOUSE OF DAN IS READY FOR THE PARTY! PEACE EXPECTED EVERYWHERE ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turkish Crier March 14, 1907 In a stunning and triumphant appearance, the Sultan visited the sailors stationed in Romania. "As you can see", he stated, "the reports of my death have been greatly exagerated." The visit boosted sagging morale and the men now vow to fight to the bitter end for their Sultan. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Swiss Times, spring 1907 The distinguished Professor Ruben von Schlock was again heard in the Dunmore Lecture Hall this evening. He addressed a group of international analysts. "Thank you for inviting me to zpeak to you thiz evening. I am zorry to zee that I waz quite correct with my predictionz about the Zultan. You zee, I knew him better than even he knowz himzelf. I am zure the world will be relieved when all of that mezz iz cleared up." "But, I ztill believe that that area may be troubled for zome time to come. Zpecificly, I have the Czar in mind. Now that he haz agreed to a peace with the Kaizer, he iz left with the English whom he haz told he would not attack, and hiz long time friend Lord Dan. I will be watching where the Czar zendz hiz forcez once thiz matter of the Zultan iz taken care of." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hungarian Herald (March 26, 1907) Things have been hopping in the house of DAN lately as all the attention has been turned to the party being hosted by Lord Dan on June 26, 1907. The leaders of all European nations have been invited to attend. Several reporters have asked Lord Dan about his alliances with Russia and Italy. His response was simple, "There has been no change in any of Austria's alliances since the year 1900 when I became the Austrian Leader. No changes are planned in the future, near or distant. As far as how to handle Germany, well, I guess the best plan is to just keep prepared. In the past the Germans always seem to try to take advantage of any slight opportunity to seize provinces from nearby powers. My troops are going to see that there are no 'easy opportunities' that might tempt them. In fact, as long as the Czar doesn't contest, I would like to span Austria's troops from the Baltic Sea to the Adriatic Sea. This way, if the Kaiser does anything agressive, there is no need to call any special meetings or communicate in any special way before we act. This would also free many Russian troops to take control of the Scandanavian countries that are rightfully theirs. By doing that, it would help Italy in it's fight against England by denying England those much needed extra sources of supplies. If the Czar is in agreement, he should have his troops give support the Austrian troops to make march from Bohemia to Silesia to Prussia. If now, all he need do is say so and I will keep my troops at home. As far as demilitarizing the Turkish border, the Czar can see that I have already started. If the Empress doesn't mind, I will send the fleet that is in the Aegean Sea up to support her fleets in and around the England area (in return for the naval support Italy gave us against Turkey). If she doesn't want any interferance, again, all she need do is say so and we will keep our fleet at home. Now, to prepare for the PARTY!!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IRP (Imperial Russian Press) March 1907 Leading experts stated that they never before have seen such a stable Europe before, with expertations of total peace after the elimination of Turkey and France in fall this year. This, together with the lack of press from the European leaders, leads to the most boring political situation anyone has ever seen on this continent. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Kaiser today denied that he is planning to put his armed forces on auction. "There is no truth on the reports that we have sent envoys to Austria, England, Italy and Russia offering to sell our forces to the highest bidder. We have achieved peace with our neighbours and we have no intention of changing the situation." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DRESDEN: Summer 1907 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Turkish F Rum retreats to the Black Sea. The Sultan was reported to be in better than expected condition considering he is to be shot by a firing squad at sunrise tomorrow. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hungarian Herald (June 18, 1907) The Sultan is now confirmed to be dead as he had been tried for his war crimes prior to the recent party held at the House of Dan (his last request) and shot as sunrise this morning. Lord Dan was there to personally to over see the execution. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hungarian Herald (June 29, 1907) Confirmation came from the House of Dan today that Lord Dan has personally requested assistance from the Czar on "this Munich matter". Turkey is over and done with, and the de-militarization will follow the sinking of the last renegade fleet in the Black Sea. Lord Dan has hopes that the Russian troops in Prussia will distract the Germans in Berlin long enough for the Austrians to take over Munich. The fact that there may be a stalemate for now should be overlooked as soon (hopefully) the Italians will be in position to give their assistance. Although it won't be necessary for them to delay wiping out the last French stronghold. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Naples, June 19, 1907. Lord Dan, It was good to hear from you recently. I will be coming to your party next Wednesday. I am sure the Kaiser will be better behaved this year. I wanted to let you know that although I appreciate your offer of the assistance of your fleet, I do not think it should bother. By the time it would arrive, there would not be any real need. I think you will want to keep it along the Balkan shores or in home port; you might need it close by some day. Looking forward to the party, Ieda ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- IRP (Imperial Russian Press) July 1907 KAISER INSULTS CZAR =================== Although the party in Lord Dans House was a big success, there was a slight incident, that could lead to a great war in middle Europe. The Kaiser, roaring drunk from too much beer, insulted the Czar and poured beer over the Czars newest uniform. While the Czar stayed cool outward, and continued to enjoy the party, he has called his generals right when he got home. It is believed that the troops in Prussia, originally sent there to help Lord Dan to close his front from the Adriatic to the Baltic Sea, will now march against Berlin this Fall. Apparently the Czar asked Lord Dan to storm Munich while the Kaisers defences are occupied elsewhere. RUMANIA CLEARED =============== The glorious Russian army was able to storm Rumania and to set aflame the last Turkish fleet that was harbored there. The Sultan was last seen floating on a plank in the Black Sea, but as Admiral Boslaw said: "I wonder where the bugger will pop up this time. Probably he will continue to insult us in press statements from some non-European country that grants him exile. Who said you were out of the game just because you don't have any troops left?" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Swiss Snooper Rumors are spreading through the political grapevine that Germany may be looking to earn the favor of the Empress, and hold off Lord Dan by renewing it's efforts to retake Denmark from the King. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We wanted to live in peace with our neighbours, said the Kaiser in his press conference, but unfortunately Austria and Russia have startend an unprovoked war against us. We have no other option than to defend ourselves and to ask other countries to help us. Spcifially, if England would consider attacking Russia from Scandinavia we would be very grateful indeed. As for Italy, we hope that after liberating France from it's government she would join us to fight Austro-Russian hordes. The Kaiser also had a special message to the Russian Czar. "We believe that your move to Prussia was a similar mistake we made a few years previously, based on faulty information. We expect that you will correct this mistake as soon as possible. By the way, we have counted the units Germany and Russia have and found out that we have 10 pieces against Austria's 8. Think about that... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- GM NOTES: Fall orders are due Friday.
