Press: Tsar Hall has plans to leave Moscow on November 30 to marry his American bride in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in the United States on December 1. He will then be gone to Aruba for the honeymoon until December 12. During this time, he will be unavailable for affairs of the Great War. These plans have raised a number of accusations that Tsar Hall has bitterly refuted. When asked if the close proximity of German and Turkish forces to the Russian capital had anything to do with his sudden departure, Tsar Hall stated, "I am taking a break from the cold for my honeymoon - I am not turning my back on my country." When asked if he was marrying an American bride with no royal blood merely to bring the United States into the Great War on the side of Russia, he ordered the execution of the questioning reporter. Tsar Hall also had no kindness for Sultan Hassan. "Let all of Europe know that the Sultan of Turkey is a backstabaholic. He adheres to agreements only when it is convenient. He is an international menace, yet all of Europe has turned their eyes on him at my expense. Soon, soon, the new fool in Italy will pay too, and then the rest of you shall follow." Admiral Sarah Sinha now has a baby sister, named Jessica. It is believed that Jessica will be given a short training period, and then handed over the reigns of the English Army. King Anand will persue his own interests. Princess Jessica weighed in at 6lbs 14.5 oz, and has already shown the keen insight and strategically sound mind that Admiral Sarah has shown. Obviously, both of these heirs get this ability from their mother. Somewhere in England: King Anand has allowed his two heirs to take complete control of the English Navy and Army. Princess Jessica has gone with the English army to Picardy, to lead the conquest of France. Princess Sarah has made a determined effort to keep the Italians out of the waters surrounding Gilbraltor, in her attempts to help the Gibraltonians to overthrow the repressive French dictators. Hamilton, Ontario: Shock went through the city, as the city learned that the NHL plans to expand did not include Hamilton. "Incredible!!", declared one resident, a close relative of the King of England, "we met all the d*mned criteria, and they pick Ottawa! They don't even have a bl**dy rink! " "Joe-Bob To Hunt Grail" Father Joe-Bob, leader of the Born-Again Shiite-Presbyterian Jihad, awoke from his slumber after once again recieving a divine message. This time the message was not from God, but rather from Joe-Bob's adopted savior, Jesus Christ, who informed him that he, as the one true religious zealot in the continent, should not allow himself to be outdone by the England's holy crusade to find the grail. Joe-Bob announced that indeed Turkish forces would be immediately commissioned to locate the holy cup, and return it to Constantinople as proof of the Turkish people's oneness with God almighty. When asked where they would start, Joe-Bob announced that his vision indicated that clues to the whereabouts of the Grail, if not the holy artifact itself, were to be found in the Aegean Sea and Armenia. Moscow: The Turkish Embassy in Moscow was the sight of a mysterious explosion last Thursday night which apparently killed Ambassador Abdul the Expendible, and the rest of the embassy's occupants. The as-yet unexplained blast leveled the embassy, severely damaged several surrounding buildings, and broke glass for miles around. Conjecture as to the cause of the blaze has been rampant since then. The most promising theory was that the Embassy was secretly storing ammunition and explosives to be used by the Germans in their assault on the Russian capital. Shah Hassan hotly denied that rumor, pointing out, "Of course we were not stockpiling ammunition in the Embassy. Would I order such a thing, when one of my best diplomats, Shiek Abdul the Expendible, lived in the building? I am saddened that you would think me capable of such a thing." The Shah then announced that he would mourn Shiek Abdul's death by spending a week with the Royal Harem and was not to be disturbed during that time. Austria and Russia must disband their last unit so they don't need to inform me of this. Press: German Free Press: Upon hearing rumors of an impending alliance between Germany, France and Italy, the English Princess Jessica made an emergency trip to Berlin. Kaiser J was so captivated by her beauty and precociousness, he had the offending Foreign Minister exiled to St Petersburg, to lead the navy into dry dock. Negotiations are now in progress for an arranged marriage between Princess Jessica and the heir to the German throne, young Prince Nicholas. The Kaiser sends his regrets to Italy, France, Russia and Austria. (Constantinople) Father Joe-Bob of the Orthodox Born-Again Shiite-Presbyterian Jihad announced that he had recieved yet another vision. In this vision, God told him that he was entirely mistaken before, and that now he's pretty darn certain that the Grail is actually in Sevastopol. General "Biff" Abdulnazarate and the 1st Surfing Brigade was immediately dispatched to execute the search. When asked to comment on the expedition, General "Biff" responded, "Well, dude, you know, like, I hope this, like, Grail, thing is on the coast, man. 'Cause it'd be like most heinous if we had to scrounge around the tundra." Tsar Hall returned from his honeymoon and was placed briefly in the emergency facilities at Moscow Hospital, due to an odd skin discoloration. Upon examination, the medical staff concluded that it was a skin condition known as a "tan", which is rare in Moscow but common in Aruba, where the Tsar had spent the previous nine days. The condition poses no significant health risk to the Tsar and should subside in a few months, according to the doctors. Discharged from the hospital, Tsar Hall immediately went to lead his cavalry troops in the Ukraine. The Tsar inspected the lines of troops holding rifles adorned with gleaming bayonets. Amount his white horse, Hall said, "I shall lead you to victory in Rumania, which the Turks have torn from the bosom of Russia. Charge!" A shout resonated through the hundreds of thousands of men stationed from the mountains of the Ukraine to the coastline of Sevastopol. And with that the army surged forward down a Ukrainian valley and into Rumania, Tsar Hall leading the way. Picardy: The populace welcomed Princess Jessica, Chief of the English General Staff, with a gala celebration. She was given the keys to the city. The English army vowed to follow her to the ends of the Earth, or Moscow whichever was closer, after her inspiring speech. In a not so surprising move, she ordered the English army to march on Paris. Camelot: King Anand, and his Knights of the Squared-Circle Table, vowed that God had spoken truly to them and NOT Joe-Bob of Turkey. "The secrets of the Holy Grail lie in the ruins of Paris, or in Northern Africa, not in Armpit-enia! God spoke truly to ME, King Anand!" England: Thousands have joined in King Anand's search for the Holy Grail, a key to the continued success of England in World Politics. In a stirring speech given in Tottenham, King Anand had this to say: "We live in a cruel world! At this time, 7 of Europe's major powers are battling for control of the world. Austria and Russia are almost gone. My loyal heirs have re-united Lesser and Greater Britain, and are now trying to remove the French usurpers of Gibraltor and Iberia. But none of this matters. God came to me. I was told to search for the Holy Grail. I am his chosen one. The Grail would bring peace to the world. The finder of the Grail would rule over the world as God's chosen. Now surely this is our chance to bring English manners, English Parliament, English muffins to the World. I mean wouldn't the rest of the world be a much better place if it was all England??" The crowds went wild and the entire populace now searches for clues to the Grail. Off the shores of Algieria: The English Navy has broached the Straits of Gilbraltor, and are steaming towards Rome. Princess and Admiral Sarah Sinha could be seen at the bow of the flagship. Rumours that the Holy Grail is actually in Rome were denied by all members of His Majesty's Navy. despite the protests of his advisors. Because of the holiday season, the game is going to be delayed until late January. The latest date I received for returning from vacation was the 25th, so I'm setting a preliminary deadline for 1 February, 1991 for Fall 1902. This is dependent on the Summer adjustments going out before then, so if you need to retreat, please get them in. Anyways, if you are going away over the holidays, enjoy your time away and have a safe trip. If you're not going anywhere, enjoy your time away from people who are. Too many innocents have been tortured and impaled by grinning | | infidels for any civilized nation to respond with anything less than | | outrage. Italy hopes that the kind, gentle Austrians will be aided by | | the hopefully less-inept revolutionary Russian government to stop this | | cancer once and for all. | | | | Moscow (AP) - It was announced today that the new Tsar, Tsar William | | the Umpteenth, has sued for peace toward all of his neighbors while | | trying to get a handle on his position, being that he was coronated | | approximately 36 hours before stuff was due... | | | | Smyrna (AP) - It was alos announced today that the Sultan had been | | selling poppies the the former Tsar. | | | | DZI (Deutsches Zeitung Internationale) - Berlin | | | | The Kaiser has begun a 15 million Mark lawsuit against the AP Berlin | | because of a report of a proposed division of France by Italy, England, | | and Germany. He has stated that this story was written with any knowledge | | from the government, and is complete hear say. While the Kaiser does | | support a free press, he also believes in a responsible press. In an | | unrelated story, the von Bismarks had also filed suit against AP Berlin | | because of a story which claims the former German leader is still alive | | and is working as a waiter at the Hofbrauhaus in Munich. | | | ================================================================================ Fall '03 of the game THUNDERDOME (EP #76) (GM is cwekx@htikub5.bitnet/Constantijn Wekx) (Normally is published in chapter four.
