In a most daring naval maneuvre the French navy, with the assistance of Admiral Pentagelli's fleet, managed a crucial breakthrough that has left the Turkish navy looking for waves. Admiral M. Aritieme D'Ancona has been decorated with the order of the Lily for his success. Departing from the usual ceremonial procedure the order was placed upon the admiral by Le Marquis himself instead of Marquise Elizabeth. Rumor has it that the spouses experience some relational difficulties (We refer interested readers to The Parisian Enquirer) Admiral Arietieme D'Ancona is quite proud of his accomplishment but soberly comments that the difference between a hero and a fool's slight; if you are succesful, you're a hero, if not a fool. The Admiralty expects to be able to land troops on the Italian Peninsula within the very near future as the Turkish Ist navy in the Tyrrhenian Sea has suffered great casualties in recent battle. "There is no way in hell they can stop us from attempting to liberate Rome and Napoli." Critics, though pleased with the successes of the French navy, warn that the liberation of Rome and Napoli may take quite some time and effort, as the Turks have maintained a very strong presence in the area. Nevertheless, the acknowledgement of the navy's success, present and future, is unanomous. Stockholm, Sweden - ENGLISH WAR EFFORT EXPECTED TO BRING CZAR ON KNEES Thanks to a superb coordination between the Kaiser and King James I, Russia may ver well find itself without a Czar in the near future. The capture of St.Petersburg and the input from the German navy has rendered the Russian fleet impotent. Intelligence sources expect the fleet to be completely destroyed within the very near future. Rear Admiral K. Nowitall Ret. stated in an interview with the London Times that he did not expect a complete obliteration of the Russian fleet but rather something along the lines of an "incorporation" of Russian military personnel into the Alliance. Commander Jonathan Bond of MI6, however, has serious doubts. "The anti- Russian sentiments in both the English and German navies may well not allow such an operation, though preferable. Personally, I think that, lest the Russian Admiralty surrenders immediately, no prisoners will be taken nor ships be kept undamaged." Commander Bond was not willing to submit a feasible plan to realize Nowitall's ideal. "The Vodka-Martini is only perfect for sometime... as is my guest for the evening." The Hague, Holland - ALLIANCE AID TO BE COMMENCED FOR GERMANY In accordance with the treaty of Burgundy, top officals of the German, French and English ministry's of Finance met yesterday in the Hague to discuss an aid package for the German troops and economy. Economists expect 18% of the French and English goldreserves to be utilized to finance the whole operation. It is expected that namely the IInd German army in Tyrolia will benefit from the operation as its exquisite performance has been crucial in the recent successes of the alliance. Field Marshall Karel von Humpterstadt, Supreme Commander of the German forces refused to make any statements about a possible strategic relocation of the IInd army. Military experts fail to supply any insight as the options and the rumors are numerous. One of these rumors asserts that the miracle drug developed by the Marquise Elizabeth Foundation has had a profound effect on a European leader; an event that may well change the pass of the war in Southern Europe. signoff ------------------ Le Figaro, Paris - DOUBLE SPY CLAIMS ASSASINATION OF SULTAN ANTON The notorius double spy Genevieve Alamein claims to have assasinated the Turkish Sultan in Trieste. Though, given the talents of the double spy, intelligence sources are reluctant to refute the claim, no confir- mation of this most astounding event has been made. However, the absence of the Sultan from the military scene could be explained by this claim if it were indeed a fact. Diplomats in several major European cities are speculating about the possible consequences for the war in Europe. The Sultan's youngest son is known to be pro-French and if the Sultan has indeed been assasinated, sources close to the Marquis state that the FSS may very well attempt a Coup d'Etat after which the Sultan's youngest son would be placed upon the throne. However, the most likely candidate for succession is the radical Jardash Gan Jilah, the Sultan's second son. His succession to the throne would have no consequences for the current state of affairs... signoff ------------------ Broadcast message from loeb@nestor.greco-prog.fr as Master in aust: Here is the corrected STATISTICS. The deadline for orders will be Thu Feb 14 23:30:00 MET. ------------------ Broadcast message from ROGER@nuacc.acns.nwu.edu as Turkey in aust: Greetings, It is with great sadness that the news of the death of the Turkish sultan is announced to the world. The new sultan is Roger Safian. A man of many talents, who wishes to see peace restored to Europe. A man who wishes to see a good frozen pizza for under a buck! A man who should, perhaps, be sent to the "Happy House" for a while. I welcome coorespondence from all, and welcome the chance to work with you. Roger ------------------ Broadcast message from STAL031@KUB.NL as France in aust: Le Figaro, Gascony - Brigadier General Simon Corsica, recently placed in charge of the IIIrd army alledgedly received orders to relocate to Burgundy. The initial orders were to position the IIIrd army near the Rock of Gibraltar in order to reinforce the Italian navy at Tunis. These rumors have however not yet been confirmed by either the General's staff or the Ministry opf Defense. ------------------ Le Figaro, Paris - DIPLOMATIC CRISES: ALLIANCE UNDER PRESSURE The succession of the new sultan has resulted in a major diplomatic crises between members of the Western Alliance. Intelligence services of the nations involved have been extremely active during the last week. Unconfirmed reports of meetings of German, British and French diplomats with Turkish officers in Basel, Switzerland, have added to the confusion. Ambassadors have filed motions of suspicion with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to sources inside the ministry, the ambassadors have expressed severe concerns regarding the alledged French diplomatic overtures to Constantinopel. France has also filed motions of suspicions with the British and German governments. Le Marquis has urged leaders to remain calm and sober. "I am convinced that the Grey Wolves have initiated these rumors about meetings in Basel. Our sources there have often proved to be unreliable and a certain degree of penetration in the FSS, MI5 and Gestapo is something to take into consi- deration. I urge King James I and Kaiser Thomas to exercise patience. Time will prove that France does not turn on its allies without good reason. France will prove its commitement to the alliance by striking hard against the Turkish armed forces in the very near future." ------------------ Broadcast message from STAL031@KUB.NL as France in aust: Le Figaro, Paris - ALAMEIN CLAIMS VICTORY FOR SULTAN ANTON'S REMOVAL The intelligence community was baffled when news from Constantinopel confirmed the demise of the late Sultan. Constantinopel has, however, not spoken of a cause of death. Alamein has once again claimed the asssasination of the Sultan. The notorious spy claimed she "loved" him to death. The Foreign Office has refused to make any statements about the role of Alamein in the realignment of the Turkish top. Expert's speculations vary quite a bit. Some insist that as a French spy cleared the way for the new Sultan, a new era in Franco-Turkish relations may be at hand. Others claim that the new Sultan is likely to request extradition of Alamein on grounds of treason; Alamein is one of the most notorious double agents in Europe. Should the latter be the case, France will probably refuse. However, the governments record in such matters has not been too consistent. As a spokesman of the Ministry of Finance noted:"One should always keep one's eye on the big picture. What is best for France?" FSS INVOLVEMENT IN TURKISH-FRANCO WAR: ALFA OR OMEGA? Major C. Overt of the FSS was recalled from his post in Tunis yesterday to meet with Le Marquis. Overt has been one of the finest agents of France in their war against Turkey. In a brief statement, Overt said that it should be understood that the nature of the meeting was top secret and that he therefor could not make any comments. However, should Turkey insist on continuing the war against France, the French navy could, with French intelligence units located on Sicily, esaily destroy the remains of the Turkish fleet in the Thyrenean Sea. "Cis is not a threath. it is a simple fact." ------------------ ROMAN TRIBUNE SPECIAL ISSUE Admiral Pentagelli has urged Paris by word of Liason C. Overt not to submit to Turkish diplomatic maneuvres. The Admiral has stated that he will refuse to continue cooperation with the French navy, should France allign itself with Turkey. "Let Paris not forget the support she has thus far received from the Italian navy in the war against Turkey. Let Paris not forget that Turkish forces occupy our homeland. Let Paris not be mistaken about our commitment to liberate our beloved nation!" ------------------ Broadcast message from westerm@bchm1.aclcb.purdue.edu as Russia in aust: Pow! Bang! Thud! This is why exercise is so important. Take joggers. You see them running along the street, clearly hating every second of it, and you say, "What's the point?" Ha. Years from now, you'll struggle to adjust to the aches and pains of growing older, whereas the joggers, who have been in constant agony for fifteen or twenty years, will be able to make the transition smoothly, unless they've committed suicide. -- Dave Barry, "Exercising Your Rights" *************** Austria (Tom Goodwin)......F Alb-Gre, A Ser SF Alb-Gre, A Tri-Bud England (Bruce Beutel).....F Nwg-Nwy, F NtS CA Yor-Bel, A Yor-Bel France (Brad Gillette).....A Pic S Eng A Yor-Bel, A Mar-Spa, F MAO-Por Germany (Tim Moore)........(F Den-Swe), A Kie-Hol, A Ruh S Eng A Yor-Bel Italy (Stewart Winter).....A Ven H, A Nap-Tun, F Ion CA Nap-Tun Russia (Ted Fischer).......(F Sev-Bla), A Ukr-Rum, A Gal SA Ukr-Rum, (F GoB-Swe) Turkey (Mattias Olofsson)..(F Ank-Bla), (A Bul-Gre), (A Con-Bul) Notes: () indicates bounced moves. Too bad about Germany. I think none of you are interested in this game. Otherwise, why would I have gotten so little mail from you as Germany. I personally don't think the game is over. However, if England is not willing to fight France, then it very well may be. If England sends me a letter privately asking me to stick with him against France and guaranteeing to adopt a strategy that keeps my remaining unit supplied, then I will become his puppet and do so he says as long as that continues to be the case. On the other hand, if England ignores this request, then I will do my best to get France to 18 before England does. I will either follow France's suggestion, or I will keep my fleet in MAO and launch a kamikazee attack on the British isles just to keep England occupied. I suggest that Italy, Turkey and Russia adopt a similar position and that we unite in our mutual defense.
