Ordinarily, an attacking unit cannot cut the support of a unit which is supporting an attack on the first unit. One exception occurs when the first attacking unit has enough support to dislodge the unit supporting the attack on the first unit (i.e. f GOL attempted to support an attack on f PIE but was dislodged by f PIE). A dislodged unit never can have a successful support.
