PWGA by E-Mail! From: arxt@quads.uchicago.edu (Aidan Palmer) Date: Mon, 08 Apr 1991 20:39:22 +0000 Hello, I'm posting the announcement for this pro-wrestling game for my friend Francois-Dominic Laramee. Please reply to him, not me. Thank you. I hope to see you at the matches! - Aidan Palmer ---------- My previous post apparently died with my newsfeed, so this one (with slightly different rules) REPLACES AND OVERRIDES it for any of you who might have seen it. So, here are the rules for my PBM, PWGA game. The PWGA role-playing rules have been posted to this board twice (the 1.1 update was posted last Saturday), and the PBM game will obviously be based on it. 1) Each person will be allowed to have at most 3 wrestlers in the PWGeA. 2) Each wrestler will be allowed to participate in only ONE match per week, except for the title holders. The players will have to arrange the matches among themselves, and then send me the pairings. The title holders are allowed to enter one match set-up by their managers in addition to their mandatory title defenses. 3) There will be four titles in the PWGA. Thw PWGA World Champion, who will defend against the No.1 Contender each week; the PWGA North American champ, who will defend against any one of the top 5 contenders (I will make the choice myself, so as to give different people title shots); the PWGA Tag-Team champions, who will defend against the No.1 contenders; and the PWGA All-Jobber champion, a title restricted to wrestlers with 145 power points or less (not counting the 25 free power points for class moves), who will defend against any member of his category who I feel deserves a shot at the title. 4) The rankings will be determined according to the Hype points gathered by hthe wrestlers during matches (2/3 of the grades) and to the overall quality of their interview segments and flashy ideas (1/3 of the grade). Note that I will grade QUALITY, not VOLUME. 5) To enter, send me your name and favourite e-mail address; I will send you the power point totals for your wrestlers soon after. IMPORTANT NOTE: indicate how many wrestlers you want. Remember, 3 is the limit, but if you do not want as many, that will just allow more people to enjoy the game. 6) As soon as you receive your power point allocation, begin to create your wrestler(s). Send me the complete Wrestler Profiles via e-mail ASAP. With it, you CAN include some strategy (i.e. the order in which you will use your moves, when to use defenses, when to use knacks, etc.) If you don^t, I will just play the wrestlers myself (and I do not accept flames for losses). 7) For now, the federation will be limited to 8 tag-teams and 16 singles wrestlers. Note that if you have two men wrestling both as a team and in solo, you can still have them fight only one match each, TOTAL. 8) Priority will be given to people who will be a around all summer long. 9) As soon as I have enough people, I will e-mail an introductory league report to all managers, describing the members of the federation and including interview segments that you will have submitted. This will help you select your feud opponents. Also included in this league report will be the results of the first Title Tournaments: a singles tournament where the winner is World champion and the runner-up is North American champ, another singles tournament for the all-jobber belt, and a tag-team tourney. Register quickly; places are limited: 10) REMEMBER: MY ADDRESS IS u1684@jsp.umontreal.ca; my friend Aidan Palmer is posting this, but it is I who will run the PWGeA Up
