Fantastic Simulations: BattleTech PBM Ending! From: dlow@physics.adelaide.edu.au (David J Low) Date: Tue, 14 May 1991 04:13:29 +0000 G'day! Anyone currently playing one of Fantasic Simulations' games (Fleet Maneuvers, The Weapon, and BattleTech) are probably aware that Douglas Latch, who started FS in 1982, is terminating his association in June. William Keydel, a past investor/partner, is taking over as sole propieter. Unfortunately, he has said that he has no interest in BattleTech PBM, and will be terminating the game at the conclusion of this turn (May 1991). Personally, I think that this is a real shame, given the amount of support players have given the game. There may be other concerns I'm not aware of, but Doug Latch is certainly happy to have the game continue, so I dunno... Anyway, I plan on writing to Mr. Keydel in an attempt to persuade him to continue the game. If any other BattleTech PBM'ers would like to do so as well, or anyone else with an interest, please do so with your current turn - you never know, we may be able to do something! The address is: Fantastic Simulations PO Box 1288 Englewood, CO 80150 USA Thanks, David. PS: evidently we will be charged $2-50 as a "game-closing fee" - is this usual in the PBM industry, when the _company_ terminates the game?? -- ___ ~~ | David J. Low, Atmospheric Group, Dept.
