SIGMA AWARDS From: dfn@ccwf.cc.utexas.edu (David Nalle) Date: Mon, 24 Jun 1991 22:08:31 +0000 The SIGMA Awards are presented every year at GENCON by the Society of Independent Game Manufacturers. They are the only industry award which is presented based entirely on the vote of gamers without any selection or nominating process, sort of like the Peoples Choice Awards of gaming. There are no restrictions as to what you can vote for, except that the nominee must have appeared in print or in operation for the first time in the calendar year 1990. Substantial revisions or new editions of previously published games may be nominated. All you have to do is send in your votes in the following 8 categories. This year, for the first time, those votes may be sent electronically. They may be sent through Internet (to dfn@ccwf.cc.utexas.edu.UUCP) or through America Online (to DavidN39). They may also be sent by mail to: SIGMA, 1416 E. 37th St., Austin, TX 78722. The deadline for voting is August 1st and the results will be announced at GENCON. You may vote for up to 3 choices in each of the following categores. Each choice will be weighted equally. Best Role-Playing Game Published in 1990 Best RPG Aid Published in 1990 Best Board/Strategy Game Published in 1990 Best Board/Strategy Game Aid Published in 1990 Best Miniature Figure/Line Published in 1990 Best Computer Game Released in 1990 Best Play-by-Mail Game Published in 1990 Best Gaming-Oriented Periodical Published in 1990 In order to assure that each person votes only once, please include your name and US Mail address with your vote. BTW votes may be sent directly by responding to this post and I'll add them to the pool we've already begun to get from the ballots which have appeared in various magazines. If anyone is interested I'll post a listing of the winners for the last 4 years. Dave Referenced By Up
