Isle of Crowns analytical tool From: griffith@dweeb.fx.com (Jim Griffith) Date: Thu, 18 Jul 1991 23:29:03 +0000 I'm finishing up work on an "Isle of Crowns" analytical tool, to be used for playing the Adventures By Mail game "Isle of Crowns". This tool allows players to generate a "power chart" of sorts, which includes sector counts, army counts, fortress counts, etc., changes in gold, food, and magic production, etc. It is not good for determining actions - you're better off looking at the map ABM provides. But it does allow you to recognize things like "hey, that guy is consuming more food than he's producing!". For now, it runs on SUNs only, although I suspect it will compile on either RS6000's or DECstations. It is curses-based, display-oriented, and configurable for different world maps. It is based on "iv", my "It's A Crime!" viewer, which is in turn loosely based on "ve", the visual editor for empire. It stores data for different turns in different files, so that it can generate analytics on the current turn and all previous turns. I'll probably have this shippable in about a week. If you're interested in using it, drop me a note.
