No comment was given as to the underlying reason. Major tabloids however speculate that the Marquis, though fond of his cousin and quite satisfied with his reign in general, grew weary of certain commands given to the Fourth french army. The meeting, which according to insiders has had all symptoms of a crises mee- ting, has resulted in a lack of orders from the French military high command. This newspaper has also noticed increased intelligence activity. The develop- ments in the Franco-German relations would imply that Paris is no longer confident of The Kaiser's loyalty. Le Marquis has initiated a major diplomatic action towards London. The Duke of Brest would personally lead the delegation. --------------------------------------- Broadcast message from STAL031@KUB.NL as France in aust: Paris, Le Figaro - ADMIRAL PENTAGELLI TO RETIRE, ITALIAN NAVY TO BE INCORPORATED Admiral Pentagelli after many years of active duty announced his retirement yesterday during a reception in his honor. The Duke of Brest awarded the admiral with the Order of Orlean, the highest military decoration ever bestowed upon a non French national. In an emotional speech, the admiral stated much regret that his active carreer had not witnesssed the liberation of his homeland but was nevertheless hopeful that it may eventually happen. Admiral Jean-Jacques Rapier has offically taken over the command of the Italian fleet. It is ecpected that he will designate a senior Italian officer with certainb responsibilities. --------------------------------------- Diplomacy Game Austerlitz statistics News from the Front: Russia is eliminated. Negotiations regarding a realignment of Germany with Allied forces failed miserably as the new leader of the Reich reorganizes his forces to attack France. According to Lord Dennison, Chairman of the Allied delegation, the current state of affairs is a direct result of the incompetence of former Bundes- Kanselier Thomas. Had Germany acted in accordance with the democratically determined plans, France and England would not have been forced to intervene in Germany's internal affairs. The incompetence of the former Bundes-Kanselier resulted in chaos in the German military high command which resulted in actions that undermined the defensive efforts of the Alliance, ergo, the continuity of French and English independence. When Bundes-Kanselier suddenly dissapeared early last year to be replaced by Kanselier Jeff from the state of Prussia - who's reputation preceeded him - the Alliance's high command considered it unwise to place the Alliance's faith once again in German hands. The strategy aimed to render German armed forces harmless largely succeeded. However, an error in judgement at Waterloo, Belgium, gave the German IIIrd army the opportunity to escape. The Alliance's request of the maintenance of the German Ist army was disregarded by Bundes-Kanselier Jeff. The Duke of Brest stated that this was indeed an unfortunate though perhaps unevitable development in the European crises. It is expected that Germany will at the very least, passively support the Turkish advance in Europe which may result in the capitulation of the Alliance in one year. General R. E. Vengefoul has alledgedly received orders from the Marquis to effectively execute a search and destroy mission. "If Germany refuses to ack- nowledge its own needs, refusing to cooperate with the Alliance, insists on being blinded by the errors of history brought on by its own leadership, we have no choice but to undertake fitting action." The General send Bundes-Kanselier Jeff a telegram which reads: "I challenge you to seek refuge behind the skirts of French women. Ten to one you don't see the Spring og 1907!" ---------------------------------------------------------- Broadcast message from STAL031@KUB.NL as France in aust: Le Figaro, Paris - Editorial rectification: The telegram to Bundes-Kanselier is supposed to read ...Spring 1914 (instead of 1908). That Turkish Love Potion is strong stuff. The Sultan, May he always have a cool drink at hand, wishes to express his satisfaction with the alchemists of the royal household. "We spent years developing this, and as soon as Peace has been declared, we intend to market it. We should be able to replace Switzerland as the financial capitol of the world." The Sultan, may his hair never clog the bathtub drain, refused to comment on wether this potion is being used to stock the royal harem, but it would not be unthinkable. ---------------------------------------------------------- Broadcast message from ROGER@nuacc.acns.nwu.edu as Turkey in aust: Guys, Why don't we think about a draw...I am rapidly loosing intrest in a game that at one time moved a long at a nice clip, but now just seems to drag on like tired old man. The target of the speech: German Bundes-Kanselier Jeff. The French armed forces have driven Germany's last and soon-to-be-non-existent army from Picardy. Intelligence reports indicate that the Germans are fleeing to Brest. A resistance unit has been organized and it is expected that the German army will be destroyed within a short period of time. Rumor has it that German soldiers have stolen French feminine clothes from drying lines to disguise themselves in order to escape. Needless to say, this trick, which may have worked in Germany as German women (especially those with names such as Gretchen and Hildegarde) look much like German men, will not work here. ---------------------------------------------------------- Retreat orders for Spring of 1913. The first point on the agenda will be the exchange of P.O.W.s and the fate of the soldiers of Germany's Soon-to-be-non-existent army. Though the former is unlikely to be a problem, the second may cause a big one as neither England or France is willing or able to host the ex-patriot Germans. Whether Turkey will accept the remnants of the army as citizens rremains to be seen. Former diplomat, Baron Henri Kissengiere, suggested that a new state be formed for these Gremans in the Turkish controlled regiions of Smyrna and and Armenia. Sources report that a similar proposal from the Chairman of the Turkish delegation, Sheik Abdul Notkrazi, will be submitted shortly. The propo- sal would be indetical except that the new "German state" be formed in the French/English controlled territories of northern Africa. It seems that no one wants them close by. Also on the agenda is the new world order as envisioned by the alliance. The proposal would call for a division of the former Reich and Russian Empire in sectors, controlled by England, Turkey and France and formal recognition of former Italy and Austria-Hungary as provinces of Turkey. Whether the exiled leaders of the respective nations will be allowed to participate in the discus- sion on even the secondary aspects remains, as of yet, uncertain. ---------------------------------------------------------- Broadcast message from ROGER@nuacc.acns.nwu.edu as Turkey in aust: Today the Sultan (May he never nick himself while shaving) awoke after a strange dream. In the dream the world was quite different. There was no more war in Europe. There was food for all. Everybody was happy. The Cubs won every World Series until the year 2032, when the game was abolished, and the Cubs were declared Champs for all time. Life was good. Booze was cheap. In short, things were boring. Therefore, the Sultan (May he never get an upset stomach) declares that there will be no more discussion of a three way draw. The war goes on. In short, the Sultan (may he never need a French tickler) says "NO" to the draw. Victory or Death! I was hoping to be able to sneak into Tunis before you got a chance to reinforce it, but now that the Royal Navy has arrived, I know I can't do it. Of course if you want to fight on, I'm ready, but were pretty much stuck from here on unless someone makes a mistake. Neither of us can make any progress. So all three of us now agree. We have a 3-way draw. Does the moderator get these broadcasts as well? By the way, we have solved the problem of where to settle the Germans - they are settling to the bottom of the channel even as we speak. Yeah, both Danny who is on vacation and myself. The terminate command has some problems in that it's supposed to delay the removal of the game from the system for a week after the last signon, but the games tend to disappear earlier. Rather than terminating I'm going to just extend the deadline into the far future to give Danny a chance to submit a final game summary. -Ken ============================================================================= Austerlitz - Winter of 1914 ============================================================================= Adjustment orders for Winter of 1914. Insiders report that the peace negotiations were temporarily endangered as the Turkish Admiralty saw an opportunity to seize the French controlled port of Tunis. However, this problem was eliminated by the arrival of English reinforcements along the North African coast and in the Western Mediterrenean. Though the treaty still needs to be ratified by the leaders of the respective nations, it is expected that the current seize fire transgress in a lasting peace.
