SPARF Help File From: nicholso@pioneer.arc.nasa.gov (Melvin H. Nicholson YBH) Date: Mon, 05 Aug 1991 21:53:12 +0000 Q: I've got my team, so WHAT DO I DO NOW?? A: Read the "What do I do now?" package (you're reading it) Q: What is the next deadline? A: The last mail you should have gotten was the schedule (also posted to rec.games.pbm) It has all the deadlines. If you didn't get a copy of it via the mail, then you should mail me REAL SOON so we can straghten that out. Q: WAIT! That says I'm supposed to submit a training schedule? How do I submit a training schedule? A: The next letter you receive from me (probably a few minutes after you get this one) will contain the submission format. Q: Is there anything I should watch out for? A: Quite a few things: 1) get the feel of table 3, it is your best friend. 2) You don't HAVE to use all your coaches, but it's a *BAD* idea not to. 3) Every player must be in a training group. 4) No player may be in more than one group. Q: How flexible is the format? A: The format is flexible except for the following things: 1) Don't put in comments. 2) Don't put in extra return characters 3) don't forget the words start, next, end 4) Make sure you don't put more players in a group than your deltas allow 5) Capitalisation counts. Q: Can I use last names? A: For managers, you must use full names (until I put in the code which will recognise them with just the last name --- I'll tell you when/if I do that) For players, you may use the last name (as defined by everything after the last space in the players name) if this is distinctive. Otherwise use the full name of the player as you listed it in the roster. Q: Can I mail the other coaches? A: Well, that's up to them. I distributed the email addresses... Up
