Diplomacy Magazine -- Chapter Two From: loeb@geocub.UUCP (Daniel LOEB) Date: Fri, 04 Oct 1991 14:22:57 +0000 Issue #259 of Chapter Two of the Electronic Protocol By Daniel Loeb (loeb@geocub.greco-prog.fr) October 4, 1991 ------------------------------------------------------------- Electronic Protocol Games played on the Diplomacy Adjudicator ------------------------------------------------------------- **** TABLE OF CONTENTS **** Editor Gone DIPL-L Cloak and Dagger Jamie runs Gunboat Hastings and Normandy Fontenoy List of game openings List of EP games on the DA List of Gamemasters **** Editor Gone **** I'll be in Milan from Oct 9 to 16. I'll reply to mail when I get back. **** DIPL-L **** I no longer have time to run the list DIPL-L. Are people interested in keeping it running? It is handy as a distribution list, but I don't have the time to weed out bad addresses. Here is the current status of DIPL-L. Please tell me if you would like to keep it going or have it changed? For example, can you volunteer to help run it. * * Discussion Group for the Game Diplomacy * * Review= Public Subscription= Open Send= Editor * Notify= yes * Reply-To= "loeb@geocub.greco-prog.fr" * Files= no * Ack= yes * Validate= Store Only * Confidential= No * Stats= None * Notebook= None * X-Tags= No * Errors-To= Owners * Editor= Eric_S_Klien@cup.portal.com (Eric Klien) * Editor= judge@milton.washington.edu (Diplomacy Adjudicator) * Editor= LOEB@FRUNIP11 (Danny Loeb) * Editor= LOEB@geocub.greco-prog.fr (Danny Loeb) * Editor= aubourg@frulm63 (Eric Aubourg) * * Owner= LOEB@geocub.greco-prog.fr (Danny Loeb) * Owner= aubourg@frulm63 (Eric Aubourg) **** Cloak and Dagger **** I'm removing these two games from the list below since they are no longer considered "moderated". Please tell me if you have any objections to the removal of these two Machievelli games. Any articles about these games would also be appreciated. **** Jamie runs Gunboat **** Jamie Dreier's Gunboat game AJAX is finished (Dave Cebula won as Austria, no less --- see below for Summary) and the identities of the players are now known. Jamie is now starting signups for his game BOADICA (same rules). I'd appreciate any article about AJAX.... **** Hastings and Normandy **** The GREAT BRITAIN variant game "HASTINGS" just started. In this variant, England starts with six units and six supply centers but they are all armies stuck on the british isles! A sort of pandora's box waiting to be opened. What will happen? To find out, sign on as an observer or alternate.... Meanwhile, Normandy still needs signups. Please signon if you speak French. **** Fontenoy **** Fontenoy's NAPLES just got replaced so we can expect Fontenoy to advance to Fall 1905 soon. However, it will get stuck there unless a few more replacement players show up. This is a 34 player variant, so we need all the replacement players we can find! **** LIST OF GAME OPENINGS ***** Turbo France (7/7) Dien Turkey (6/7) Fontenoy P-Lon, Q-Mar, X-Rom, 1-Smy, 3-StP, 9-War **** LIST OF EP GAMES ON THE DA **** --- EXPLANATION --- Here is an update on games played on Judge. Each game is represented by a line of data (followed possibly by a line of comments --- please send me comments I can use if you are a GM!). The games are sorted according the the variant rules which are used. The 1st column gives the name of the game including a "#" if the game is a "private" or "unlisted" game. The 2nd column gives its Electronic Protocol number if available. The 3rd column gives the name of the GM (see list of GMs below). The other columns give updates on this game in chronological order with the most recent entry on the right. The updates for a game in formation indicate the number of players needed to start. For example, -5. The updates for a game in progress indicate the season (F for Fall or S for Spring), the last 2 digits of the year, and the phase (M for movement, B for builds, and R for retreats). All this is possibly followed by the indication of the number of replacement players (-1), temporary replacements (T1) needed, or needed later on (*1). I'm listing the status of each game not only for this week but for the last several weeks, so that you can see not only where the game is, but how fast it is moving. Please tell me if this extra information is useful to you. --- LIST --- Name EP# GM July5 July31 Aug12 Aug20 Sep4 Sep25 Oct4 ------- --- -- ----- ------ ----- ----- ---- ----- ---- STANDARD RULES berezina 92 loeb S11M F12M F12B F12B F13B F14M F14M portnoy 125 koll02 S07M-1 S08R S09M S09M F09M F09B-1 F10M jutland 112 loeb F03B F04M F04B*1 S05MT1 S05M S05M-1 F05M tiberius 83 loeb S06M-1 S08M S09M*1 S09M F09M F09M-1 S10M marengo 129 scottb -5 S01M F01B S03M S03M # normandy loeb -7 -5 -4 -4 -2 All press will be written in French.
