Lords of the Earth - Openings From: cwayne@triton.unm.edu (Chris Wayne) Date: Tue, 24 Sep 1991 03:36:20 +0000 DO YOU WANT TO RULE THE WORLD? Do you want to: * Lead Armies in Conquest * Build Mighty Empires * Make Alliances * Conduct Research * Get Rich in Trade * Spread Your Religion * Humiliate Your Enemies * Backstab Your Friends * Rule the Waves * Conquer the World If so, then we want you! For the incredible game of: The Lords of the Earth (*) ((*) copyright: Thomas Harlan, 1985) An historcal simulation of the entire world, from circa 1000ad to the present -- and beyond! YOU build and command armies, YOU plan your stategies, YOU make alliances, YOU build great cities, YOU control an entire nation! Lords of the Earth is a complex, intriguing, (dare i say it?) educational, and Fun game about people, power, war, trade, and diplomacy. It is played by mail (not E-mail ... yet!), by roughly 35 players, and run by a Game Master. It's cheap, too, costing only about $2.00 per turn, with one turn every two weeks. Sound slow? Ha! Wait 'til the Mongol Hordes overrun your nation -- you'll think time passes swiftly enough!
