Play-by-Email Futbal (Soccer) League From: wickart@ichips.intel.com (Bill 'Prune' Wickart) Date: Thu, 17 Oct 1991 16:36:58 +0000 Alan Parr's play-by-mail game of United has corssed the Atlantic and found quite a few followers here in the States. Through various machinations, I seem to be inheriting the leadership of our experimental e-mail version, about to enter its 5th season. I used to play in this league (I will be looking for a new manager to take over my team, the defending playoff champions), and still play in the parent league. I will at least entertain the idea of adding a second division made of new players and teams. This is your official call. If you are interested, please send me e-mail at the address in my signature (or your net's translation of that). I will reply with a set of the current rules, and answer any questions you may have. The game is basically one of resource management; you make your inital roster, decide which players (each with a given Skill Level) will play in each match, and try to out-guess your opponents while you develop your team over the months (or years, in some cases). ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- DISCLAIMER: Intel pays me well for the opinions it wants; the other stuff remains mine.
