New e-mail Football League Starting From: wrl@pmafire.inel.gov (William Lechner) Date: Fri, 08 Nov 1991 18:41:17 +0000 The commissioner for the World E-Mail Football League (WEMFL) is accepting general managers for its inaugural season. General managers will name their team, draft their players, and select the best coaching style each week to humiliate their opponent. The game system utilized is computer moderated run by yours truly. This is not a rotisserie style game system. The results of the games are based on actual player statistics from last years NFL season. This is US rules football using real NFL players. This is my fourth season of commissioner of this league but the first time as ane-mail commissioner. I think I have the bugs worked out (I hope). Sixteen teams will be allowed in the league with a 13 game schedule. As GM the draft portion of your job will be enormous. Each team will have 37 players as a minimum. The maximum is 44 active players is allowed, encouraged, but limited to 23 player transactions. The GM must wade through and prioritize at least 600 out of over 1200 players. I have organized the players to make thetask of prioritization easier. Draft order will be determined by a dual random system. In order to be accepted into the league as a GM several conditions must be met: 1. A reliable e-mail connection with me must exist (and prefer- ably with the other GMs). 2. I must receive the prioritized draft list by Dec. 8th. 3. I must receive a team name by Dec. 8th. Because of condition #2, no one will be denied an opportunity to field a team until 16 draft lists are received. Additional instructions will be sent with the draft list.
