Big Guns In Duelmasters From: ccs012@mr-ranger.ucdavis.edu (Dennis Cleary) Date: Tue, 19 Nov 1991 01:10:44 +0000 For those of you who really _want_ to be in Primus... >>On this discussion about styles, my undersatnding is that the styles which >>dominate upper Primus are Lunging, PLunging, and Parry Rip. Bashers and >>slashers don't do that well. I also understand that a good Aimed Blow (like, >>ohhh, NECRON 99) can do well. But then, AB's are arguably the most luck based >>style in the game... >Basically I've heard the same things, except that WS do well also (see >Teetotaler, Wallbanger, etc.) and I don't think slashers do that poorly, >especially after witnessing Elisa's performance at the Face-to-Face. Also, >St do rather poorly. I'll explain what I've heard about all this in >another post in a couple of days. Nope, Wallbanger is a lunger. Big sucker too! And, even though it's not the rarity is used to be, a Grandmaster in Initiative. He won one AD tournament, going 13-0, and his opponents only swung at him _twice_. Kinda makes you think, huh? >>Information that I need: >>you who've played the game for a while, you know that every once in a >>while, you see and ariticle by Deke Young (Doc Le'Grande) about some huge >>striker. Has anyone tried out this design? I understand that Phido had >>the top Primus warrior for a while: a size 16 striker. Is this true? Actually, a lot of people have tried out Doc LeGrand's striker, and it has it's merits. I would contend, however, that any character with WT/WL 17+ is going to be competitive, almost no matter what the other stats are. As for Phido's top warrior, it was Wallbanger, a SZ 16 lunger. Word has it that he started with WT/WL 17+. Coincidence? >NO I haven't, and I doubt that I will, since my high size warriors become >WS, BA or DAs. Usually I find anything over SZ 16 unworkable, although I >currently have some exceptions (like a brand new SZ 19 {!} PS experiment) You make your big warriors WS's? It tried that for a while, but they're much better off as Bashers. Bashers end up with more offense, and it seems about the same on defense. :( Donald Trump Referenced By Up
