Xmen Awakening: The Journey of a Hero

When one uses the word "Xmen", one gets the idea of the oldest mutant
superhero group in the Marvel Universe. And that follows with the whole
of the Marvel Universe and the diversity of heroes and villians within
the genre.

But how did they get there? What happened to them to make them decide
that putting on spandex and zipping around to solve other people's
problems was the thing they wanted to do? Weren't they teenagers once?
Didn't they have problems dealing with Family and Friends finding out
they were mutants? How did they feel when the got to Xavier's and the
isolation it brought?

XA is a sim that tells these stories from the character's point of
view, with characters of the writer's creation. However, the writers do
not have control of the creation or development of their mutant
abilities. As a writer, a challenge is surrendering some of your
control to allow someone else to bestow the powers onto the character.
As a writer, a challenge is to make a character that can stand alone
and be written without powers, which you must do for some time before
your powers begin to Awaken. And as a writer, a challnge is exploring
the journey and discovering if the character has the motivation to
become a spandex-wearing superhero or a hidden mutant who is an
accountant.

Are you up for the challenge?

XA is not the sim for everyone but those who take to it do so with
zeal. We have a steady 18 writers who mostly post at least once a week
each resulting in four posts a day, average. The standard minimum
posting requirement of four posts a month, two character development
posts and two "other" carries for XA. The average post is 800 words
with a great many hitting nine pages or 1500 words. We're all about
quality posts of length. Grammar and spelling checks are required as is
a writing sample. We do not support "tagging" and lurkers are not
welcome, sorry. If you want to be a part of XA, you have to be a
"contributing part". We are an adult sim (18+) but we are not a
slash/porn/dating site, though characters are welcome to explore a
variety of adult topics. As with the other sims under my control, XA is
a place of safety, respect and freedom. I am an active part in my
sim(s) and have at least three JP's active and open at any time.

Soon to be a member of the spartan-fleet.com simulations, we are still
using a yahoogroup until the archives and the list-server is set up for
XA as well.
