Aimed Blow Stat bonuses From: SWSHEB@WMVM1.BITNET (Steve) Date: Mon, 20 Jan 1992 19:42:58 +0000 Folks, I am trying to put together some decent amount of data for the bonuses which the aimed blow style receives initially. I run a large number of AB's myself, but most die before receiving more than one expert. :) If any of you managers have aimed blows (dead or alive) that achieved experts, and you have the stat/skills chart, could you calculate the bonus/ penalty received by determining how many skills his stats give him in the area of the expert, and comparing how many it _should_ have taken to get to expert and how many it actually did? Example, Abra Macabre, set up 13 15 7 15 7 10 17, achieved an expert in attack at 6 skills before dying at 7-2. Now, I count each skill that is listed as "Y" or "Yc" under attack for each stat. With strength, the first one is at 15 (Yc), so he gets none for strength. Con has no effect, and we can't account for size. So, under wit, there is a Yc at 11, 13, and 15, all of which are equal to or below his wit, so he gets three skills for his wit . His low will gets no skill bonus, and speed, according to the chart, does not affect attack. So his 17 deftness gives him one at 9, two at 11, and one at 13, 15, and 17, for a total of 6 under deftness, and 9 overall. Since each skill represents 5% skill, and expert is achieved at 80%, he should receive his expert in 7 skills (9+7=16). Actually, he received it in 6, indicating a style bonus for attack of 5% or 1 skill. Obviously, if you trained stats before achieving an expert, you should count the trained stats as if they were original for the chart. I have about 12 which range from -15% penalty to 25% bonus in attack. I am interested in all areas, however. The results of what I have and what you send me will appear in an article in Donald Trump's "Bloodfeud" as soon as I can get it written :) I would really appreciate any help you might be able to provide. Thanks again, and thanks to all who let me know that posting via e-mail works. :) Vlad, who has no nifty header with sayings... :-> Up
