Monster Island From: johns@netlink.cts.com (John Stanton) Date: Fri, 17 Jan 1992 00:14:39 +0000 What I would like to see is a list of all the various players here on the net, stating the general area they are located. It would be nice to have a list of all the groups with at least a name and telephone number associated with it. I run three monters: WindShield Viper, female, 67 turns Skid Mark Viper, male, 30 turns Johnny Quest Norman, male,60 turns All three are members of the Guardians of Fuvah. We're in the vicinity of the Happy Junglemon Far Inn and would like to coordinate with others in the area. We've recently built what we belive the first temple dedicated to Fuvah. Does anyone know what cauldi plants are good for? It seems that everyone that I communicate with has there own system for doing maps. Most of my programmer friends have tried their hand at creating electronic maps. Has anyone out there created a WONDERFUL mapping program? I know of a package called SCRIBE, created by a PBM gamer which is a generic mapping tool. It's got 3-D maps for space games and 2-D maps for games like Monster Island. It allows customization of symbols and terrain. The players of Legends have made good use of this tool. Just thought I would mention it in case anyone was interested. It runs on IBM EGA systems and a port of the Mac II is planned. It would be nice if there was some truly great mapping program that could print out great looking maps on a laser priner. Scribe doesn't qualify as great, but it is the best I have seen so far. Printing is its biggest weakness. So, anyone out there have something great in the way of a mapping tool? Oh, a Scribe demo is available on CI$ and I could probably dig up the author's address.
