stat trains From: sms35849@uxa.cso.uiuc.edu (Scott M. Stortzum) Date: Fri, 06 Mar 1992 23:25:38 +0000 Now, from what I gather from Riff-Raff's argument he says the first 3 trains are at normal rates. Wrong! The very first stat train is at 100%, then the next one is halved, the next one is halved after that. So a warrior training his speed (will of 20) would have a 100% chance then first time, a 50% chance the next time, a 25% chance the 3rd time, etc... When you reach AD, the first 3 trains are at 100%, then halved every time thereafter. This system allows characters with will's above 20 to get six stat raises on average in AD. Example, my 18 WL tp raised his ST 2 times in regular DM, then had no problem at all raising his ST 3 consecutive fights in AD. Extremely lucky, not! It's very rare that you see regular DM characters raising stats 3 times before they go to AD for this very reason. Another example, before I understood the rule, I had a 17 WL lunger try to raise ST a 3rd time. Theoretically, if you follow Riff-Raff's argument, he had an 85% chance to raise it. Well, in 3 arena fights and 2 tourney fights he never got that 3rd raise. My belief is in the system I described above. Later, Scott :wq Referenced By Up
