Power Struggle From: kknudsen@happy.helios.nd.edu (keith knudsen) Date: Fri, 27 Mar 1992 16:12:27 +0000 I have had so many responces to my post earlier this year about Power Struggle the PBeM, and I had to turn so many people away, that I thought I would let you all know how things are progressing. The concept of the game as you may recall is a combination of Role Playing and Strategy with all of the players trying to meet different win conditions while getting in each others way. The main characters are: The Captain of the Royal Guard The Duke of Fenwick The Prince of Mylos The Baron of Southland The Count of Wicksfork The Court Wizard The Grand Druid and The Archbishop The game started off with quick military strikes against neutral towns and predictably, they fell with little resistance. The Archbishop and the Baron made a secret pact and feinted an attack against the Grand Druid. The Grand Druid, who had allies of his own, called for supportThe Count of Wicksfork responded by sending troops from his own garrisons to support the Druid's Temple. Then the Archbishop and the Baron swung south along the river and captured one of the Count's most valuable cities by surprise. After a bloody battle, the Paladins proved too strong to stop and the city of Scarsavel fell. Meanwhile, the Captain of the Royal Guard was busy going after the Duke. The Duke countered by destroying a key bridge and fortifying his shore. Meanwhile, spies roam each city gleaning information and waiting for the opportunity to create havoc. Will the Duke be able to withstand the might of the King's Armies (now under the direction of the Captain of the Royal Guard), or will the Captain cross the river and unleash his men on the Duchy? Can the Druid and the Count comeback after the crippling defeat at the hands of the Archbishop and the Baron? Stay tuned for all of the exiciting news as it happens, right here on this channel!!!! Up
