Combat rules clearly state that attacks are stack vs. stack.
Imperfect as this may be for 100% truism to reality, it works
pretty well most of the time.

You attack a group of people, you can't kill just one.  The rest
of the guild members will not stand by and let you murder one of
their own.  Your 15 men storm the tower with swords drawn, what
do you expect the defensive stack to do?

Other skills (not yet implemented) will allow more specific
targeting of individuals for assasinations and kidnapping.

Stacks do not require that all of the members are cooperative
together, only that they are cooperative with the leader.  Thus
enemies may join together under a common friend.

In the case of a guild tower, the guild itself is the stack leader,
so the members need not declare each other cooperative to stack with
the tower.
