Name Changes in Olympia

Though i am unfamiliar with the details of Olympia (having never played it before), i do feel that i understand the problem (having played a game called TNyc some years back, which sounds strangely similar). Having to refer to entities by number -- as opposed to name -- is "unpleasing". One possible way to solve the problem would be to let each player name other entities as they meet them. The 'name' attribute, then, becomes one which is applied by the observer (much the way we do in real life). By convent

ion, all (or some) os the players may opt to name a particular unit by a common (agreed upon) name. This, of course, would require the game database to maintain a separate list of names for each player. The space requirements could get huge.
