[PBEM News] Legacy: Return to Center City From: agent.13@gmail-dot-com.no-spam.invalid (Agent13) Date: Fri, 30 Dec 2005 09:05:29 +0000 Legacy: Return to Center City legacy 1. Money or property bequeathed to another by will. 2. Something handed down from an ancestor or a predecessor or from the past. 3. Obs.the office, function, or commission of a legate. --------------------------------- Legacy. A former sidekick takes up the mantle of his mentor. A child steps out from the shadow of their parent, or brother, or cousin. A great power chooses a new vessel to work through. A legend of the past inspires a new generation of heroes. A group of alien lawmen add a new agent to their ranks. Legacy. In the tradition of Nightwing, Black Panther, Infinity Inc., Spider-Girl, Starman, the Ghost Rider, and many others, Legacy: Return to Center City will be a PBeM game following the adventures of a group of legacy heroes. In the world set down in the Villains & Vigilantes timeline (http://www.geocities.com/agent-13/canontimeline.html), the PCs will be taking up the role held by their predecessors - the Sentinels, protectors of Center City (http://www.geocities.com/agent-13/centercity.pdf). The Sentinels, of course, are the heroes who banded together to stop the villainous Crushers during the original Crisis at Crusader Citadel. While the Crusaders expanded their scope outward to protect the planet and beyond, the Sentinels banded together to protect Center City. Almost two-and-a-half decades later, the group has disbanded, its members publicly retiring or simply dropping out of sight. And thats where you come in --------------------------------- Legacy: Return to Center City will be run using the second edition of Villains & Vigilantes via a YahooGroups mailing list. (While the game may upgrade to Jeff Dees Living Legends in the future, Im not yet familiar enough with the system to use it at this point.) Character creation will include the following: * Creating a character using whichever method the player chooses, random or character modeling. Players should also choose background skills using the sheet found at http://www.ravensgate.us/rg/BS.htm (As well, this game will be using the house rules from the Ravengate site regarding Inventing Points, Training Bonuses, Experience & CHA, Ice Powers, and Combat Options for Attacking Multiple Targets and Paralysis Rays.) Please provide as much information as you can regarding the characters background, personality, powers and costume. * Creating the characters predecessor, the Batman to their Robin, the Captain America to their Patriot, the Tarzan to their Korak. Stats are not necessary for these NPCs, but please provide as much information as you can regarding the characters background, heroic career, personality, powers and costume. * Provide a rogues gallery of at least four villains for the character and his predecessor. Two may be from published V&V products, but the rest should be original. Details for the villains need not be extensive, but feel free to provide any you think are necessary. --------------------------------- Submissions should be sent to agent.13@gmail.com. I will be taking submissions for players through January 14th. Ive not yet decided on the number of players to accept, but one must keep the number manageable. Lurkers will gladly be accepted to the list (once its created). -- posted from PBEM News - PBEM listings and announcements Reply to this post at http://www.rpglibrary.org/news/ Up
