Well, I personally feel that there's no reason anyone should know what
faction a unit belongs to unless the unit is advertising.  I mean, I
can't look at a random person on the street and tell where they work
unless they happen to be wearing a badge, or a company t-shirt or
something.

I'm in favor of a new set command "display" that would let each unit
display a short string, i.e.,

set 0 display "the colors of Rocko"
	set 0 display "a griffon on a blue background"

which could then be seen by other units i.e.,

In Drassa:

Flamboyant [1033], individual, displaying a lion rampant.

Everything else should require "well, I've seen him stacked with Foo,
so..." and exchanging information with other players. Although I could
see that high levels of Observation might reveal this information,
though I would set that level pretty high - maybe 4 or 5.

I think that the limits to growth should be more directly based on
economic and command and control problems.  Personally, I think that
Olympia has pretty good balance in this regard anyway.

Making "persuade" and "terrorize" more effective coming from units with
high leadership levels would probably be just as effective without adding
a new construct to the game.

That's not something that I personally want to spend my game time
doing, but if other people have an interest in it, maybe it bears
investigation.
