[PBEM News] A Different Kind of Star Wars From: MrScottG2006@yahoo-dot-com.no-spam.invalid (Zaboem) Date: Tue, 27 Dec 2005 04:05:25 +0000 Greetings, Lando Calrissian just brainstormed his riskiest business scheme yet. He intends to create a team of professional heroes to improve the public image of the Alliance and assist him in troubleshooting. Can you defeat the the tyranny of darkness and look good while doing it? I am presently checking to see if there is interest is a Star Wars game focused on celebrity status. I have for several years been working on a campaign called Star Wars: Ragnarok, but I've never had a chance to play test any of it. The goal is the game is two-fold, first to save the galaxy, and second to attain riches and fame while doing it. Basically, the player characters are the heroes who sell out. Think more like Mystery Men and less like Youngblood. I am looking for a small to medium number of players to participate in a play-by-post format. The PBP aspects will center on resource management and setting ones own goals far more than action. From time to time, optional adventures will take place in other formats better suited to adventure -- probably chat rooms or OpenRPG. The base game rules are West End Games' old D6 Star Wars 2nd Edition, but familiarity with the rules is not a requirement as they are very simple. If there is interest, I will go forward with the game.
