AD&D PBeM campaign

I am starting an PBeM AD&D campaign. The game will be based on AD&D v1 rules
with major personal mods. The game will be set in a world of my design, and
is based partially on player input.

Here are the details.

1. The game will use email, and have updates 1-3 times per week, as I and the
   players have time. It will start with the beginning of the fall term, but
   as I plan to have the setting ready by then, I collect the players and
   characters during summer. It will last until May, -93, unless I have a reason
   to do otherwise. A co-DM is most welcome.

2. To me, the fun of these campaigns is the story, as well as true roleplay.
   Thus, I require characters with well-detailed backgrounds, and preferably
   players who like reading long stories - most updates will have a fair amount
   of information in them. Those who believe they have the time and imagination
   to make the character fascinating to have in the game, flip the r-button,
   and send me the basis for the character. For the moment, game mechanics will
   not be so important, as the rules will be mailed to you in time. I do not
   require specifics, but to give some outline, the characters will have
   100k-125k exp's, using AD&Dv1, which means 8th-10th level. I do not require
   the character to be AD&Dv1, though - start from an idea, and the character
   will be balanced later.

3. I will take, oh, 20 players or so, out of which I already have received
   submissions from 15 or so. Priority is based on how detailed the character
   is, how well it fits the setting, and time. If there will be a co-DM, the
   limit on player number will go to, say, 30 or so, or lifted altogether.

4. The setting will be more based on mystery than combat, even if fighting will
   have its place. A riddle map race in a northern European setting might
   describe rather well what I have in mind.. yet, that depends a lot on the
   kinds of entries I get, as each entry modifies the map as well.
