Re: Duelmasters: Help Wanted With First Turn From: crip@eebbs.isis.org (Garth Werner) Date: Sat, 04 Jul 1992 23:17:51 +0000 First off, I can't quote the original post because the message was too long. But having said that I don't really think it will matter that much. I don't really know the Wall of Steel style all that well (.540 lifetime, 8th ranked style for me), but I do have a handle on the Parry Ripostes. .585 lifetime,3rd behind scum and pokers. Now with regards to your PR, I seem to remember the following stats: 12-9-6-17-13-9-19 Gee seems one point too High, but anyway. Does Little Damage. Expert Riposte. The first of these two comments is really going to hurt you. The second, while nice to look at, really bears no correspondence to the success of a PR. My most successful PR had the worst initial Riposte ability, but I'm off topic. What you need to know is suggestions for how to run this guy. A good generic strategy for fighting any style: 2 2 3 4 4 3 2 4 4 3 4 4 2 3 1 4 3 4 6 3 2 RA---------------------------------------> LL LE---------------------------------------> HE Don;t need to use any offensive tactic P P weapon, vs armor(0 - 6to9) EP & HA, or EP & SM, or EP&DA (6to9 - +) LO & HA Even the Scimitar may turn out to be a great weapon, but I would try out these two first. As far as training goes, I would normally suggest training only skills for this warrior, however, because of your little damage doing comment, I would try to raise his strength to 13 right away. Not only will , er I mean may, improve his ability to do damage, but It will allow him to use the WH as an off-hand weapon against heavily armored opponents. Believe me it comes in quite handy. Generally speaking, the best styles to challenge are weak attacking offensives, or mixed styles, so PS,ST,some BA,LU,PL,PR,WS. You will have problems with TPs, and ABs, but anything else is probably an even match at worst. Good Luck Garth Werner handleless as well Referenced By Up
