E-mail Civilization Turn 6 Summary From: pwork@afit.af.mil (Paul R. Work) Date: Wed, 01 Jul 1992 17:32:03 +0000 Howdy Y'all, Conflict widens as the pressures for "Lebensraum" and city sites drive the cultures towards each other. Summary of turn 6 Conflict Color Commentary: Palermo (which can support 2 tokens) has 1 Italian and 2 African tokens. The Italians lose as the Africans get mad when the take-out pizza they had ordered took 2 hours to cook. Result: Italy loses 1 token, leaving the Africans in sole possesion of Palermo. Syracuse (which can support 1 token) has 1 Italian and 1 African token. Neither side prevails in the dispute, and both tokens expire complaining of upset stomachs from too much pizza and spaghetti. Result: Syracuse is unpopulated. Milazzo (which can support 2 tokens) has 1 Italian and 2 African tokens. The hungry Africans get in an argument with the Italians over the relative virtues of pepperoni versus sausage. They dispose of the Italians and eat both the pepperoni and sausage pizzas. Result: 2 African tokens remain in Milazzo. Ithaca (which can support 1 token) has 6 Italian tokens and 2 Cretan tokens. The Cretans attempt to steal the Italian axes, but are caught in the act! The Italians blunder about as the Cretans madly dash for the hills. One Italian token (bent on vengeance) gets lost in the strange hills, but the Cretans pass away at the hands of various wild boars that they try and catch with their bare hands. Result: 5 Italian tokens wonder what they're going to do now. Memphis (which can support 4 tokens) has 6 Egyptian and 2 African tokens. The Africans protest that they "only want to see the Sphinx", not realizing that it hasn't been built yet. One Egyptian gratiously volunteers to act as their guide and leads them away into the desert. Unfortunately, he doesn't return either. Result: 5 Egyptian tokens remain to begin building a pyramid for their dear departed ones. Upper Egypt (which can support 4 tokens) has 4 Egyptian and 2 African tokens. Another group comes in "looking for the Sphinx". When they realize that they're hundreds of miles off course, they go to have a fun time with the local ladies. The local gents object, and 1 Egyptian and 1 African token are thrown in jail where they are forgotten by all. Result: 3 Egyptian and 1 African token settle down to live in peace (for the next 500 years). Mikop (which can support 2 tokens) has 2 Thracian and 3 Babylonian tokens. Neither group is sure of what they're doing so far from home. "Babylonians up here?" question the Thracians. "Barbarians!" exclaim the Babylonians as they send them packing. Result: 2 Babylonian tokens lay claim to the entire area, with only Thracian graves to protest the action.
