[PBEM News] DS-9 with shades of Babylon 5 and Firefly PBEM

While it is set in the Trek universe, this game isn't strictly a Trek
game, nor is it affliated with any 'Fleet' so I thought I'd post it
here as well as it is more heavily Babylon 5 and Firefly in feel and
where we hope to take it.

Come join the mystery, intrigue and adventure aboard Deep Space 9 in
the
year 2377.  All the canon characters except for Quark and Garak have
left to pursue their own lives and it falls to Captain Sheridan to
negotiate and maintain the delicate balance of power in the Alpha
Quadrant.

This game will focus on political intrigue, mystery, action and
adventure with a bit of comedy and romance thrown in for fun.  It
will
be as gritty as Babylon, with complex, well developed characters and
will include a Civilian component much like in Firefly all set in
the Trek universe.

Ideally we're looking for active roleplayers in this rules based game
--
this is not a free form game!  However, while not free form, story
arcs
are developed around the backgrounds of the active characters and
there
is creative latitude for players to introduce subplots to the main
arc.
 Most positions are open at this time including civilian postions:

StarFleet: Engineering, Science, Security, Operations, etc

Civilian: Shop owners, miners, merchants, traders, pilots, Dabo girls,

waiters, diplomats, bodyguards, lawyers, mediators, assayers, and
more!

We are looking for people that take roleplaying as seriously as we do
--
we work hard and we play hard.  We expect multiple posts per day when
the action is going and we expect people to be able to post evenings
and
weekends as well.  That being said, we are also looking for civilians
to
be a part of regular station life and those positions will not be
required to past as frequently.  There will be a trial run before
being
accepted as a player in this game so that that player and GMs alike
can
see if the game will be a good fit for all involved.

American :) is required.  The game will be via regular email (no
boards!) and posts will also be accessible via googlegroups.com as
