[PBEM News] What to Do When Your PBEM Partners are Busy From: clbsvi@aol-dot-com.no-spam.invalid (clbsvi) Date: Sat, 21 Jan 2006 03:05:11 +0000 I am quite aware that this (PBEM) website is set up primarily for people who like to play by eMail with other on-line gaming enthusiats. This is a suggestion for a pair of addictive computer-based RPG's which can be played on your desktop or laptop whenever your on-line partners are not available. These two games are "NetHack" and its more versatile derivative, "SlashEm." Here is a link to a versatile website which is a great stepping-stone to an entire fantasy RPG world which can be used to hone your skills for your regular PBEM sessions. This site is: www.NETHACK.de (Sascha's and Ralph's nethack site). Here is another descriptive website which will acquaint you with the wide variety of these two RPG multiverses: http://www.statslab.cam.ac.uk/~eva/nethack/spoilerlist.html Copy and paste these two links and you are on your way to hundreds of hours of addictive, challanging fun. Both games are capable of easy free and easy downloads downloads from a variety of multi-national websites shown by links at the above two sites. I play on a Toshiba Centino-enabled laptop running Windows XP. I can envision it would be possible to have two or more players playing the same game together, with strategy consultation be parallel eMail. This info is offered for what its worth.
