Olympia & work From: jwoolsey@gfx.engga.uwo.ca (John J. Woolsey) Date: Sat, 01 Aug 1992 00:59:13 +0000 Hello everyone me again. I just thought I might put my $.02 in on work. Work should pay maintenence in two weeks the reason for this is simple. In the new plans of things a unit to support itself must work 25 days a month if it has no skills. This leaves 3 days a month to make new gold, or to gain new skills. Hardly a platform for growth within the game. I think new men should be more expensive based on faction size, and free if your faction leader does the recruiting. However your faction leader must recruit into a separate faction, and he still must spend 6 days per person recruited. Basically a way to resurect yourself should you get really out of cash/people, but not a way to gain exponential growth. If for example it cost 50 gold + 1 per man in your faction there would be a logical limit on your faction size, but beginers would have an easier time of it. The game type explanation of why it takes more money is that in a large force the leader is more separated from the troops, and it costs more money, and less talking to get them to join. The leader along those lines in 6 days can convince someone to follow him with no bonus cash, which makes sense. ie I will pay you xx a week. Up
