Galaxy:Planet Reports From: bampton@cs.utk.edu (Howard J. Bampton) Date: Fri, 28 Aug 1992 01:40:49 +0000 Since the Galaxy discussion seems to have dropped off for the moment (:-( I have an idea that came up which I'm considering implementing: Many galaxy players either don't have fancy turn analysis tools and have to do calculations like ship speed, shield strength, and planetary production by hand. I've seen the fist 2 added to one game's reports without cluttering them up too badly. What does everyone have to say about adding to the "Your planets" section (or even the uninhabited/inhabited by someone else sections) 4 new fields: usable capital (after colonists, no mat stockpile), usable capital (after colonists, assuming that there is a material stockpile), max mass of ships in 1 turn (no mat), max mass of ships in 1 turn (mat). What does everyone think about this? To keep the planet listings from getting any longer, one might also change to a 2 line format like: Name X Y Size Pop Ind Resources Producing cap_stored mat_stored col_stored UC-M UCM MM-M MMM or perhaps change to 2 sections? Say, "Planet Statistics" & "Planet production/stockpiles" and have everything up to the Resources field in the first block and the producing & later in the other?
