PBM College Football League From: allan@csd4.csd.uwm.edu (Allan M Sellers) Date: Sun, 13 Sep 1992 18:26:37 +0000 Hello! I'm starting a college football league in the next few days (1st set of games in about 10 days) and still need a few coaches (approximately 4-6) to complete the league. The game itself will use the 1990 Division I-A NCAA teams (it has all of them except for a couple like UCLA and Texas). I didn't have time to get hold of a 1991 data disk, so thats the reason for using the 1990 teams. The format for the season will be comprised of 5 "sessions", with each session having 2 games. So, there will be 10 regular season games, and the a bowl game (for each team). What you as a manager would do, is fill out a 104-question game plan for each game. This game plan asks questions like, "what % of the time would you run the ball on 3rd and 5?", and there are (obviously) a lot more questions. But, basically these questions are straightforward and as a coach, you would be basing your answers on your own team's strengths and weaknesses, and these same two things for the opposition. Each game plan will (should) be different, because in a sense you are tailor-making it to fit the opposition (i.e., if I have a strong passing game, and my opponents passing defense is weak, I'm gonna pass ALL DAY!). The game itself comes with a "top-20 coaches poll", so that along with standings and a "Heisman-like" MVP award should make things interesting. That's most of the basic information, if you would like a team, and are able to turn in 2-game plans every 14 days or so, please send me an e-mail messsage and I will send you more information.
