Legends: Answers to my questions From: dani@netcom.com (Dani Zweig) Date: Thu, 17 Sep 1992 23:02:20 +0000 My thanks to those who responded to my questions. Here's what I was told: The consensus is that I#1116 (Chaos Ooze) and I#1118 (Psi-Monster Orb) are components for unspecified Ancient Arcana spells. (One person thought Chaos Ooze might be for a Nameless One spell -- Summon Chaos Warriors, or some such.) Nobody knew what I#604 (Medal of the Warrior) was. There's a suspicion that it gives some minor combat bonuses to a specific race or religion. (There are some less-than-exciting items floating around the module. I recently cast a Runeknowledge on a "radiant star medal". Turned out to give a +1 DF and 5% poison protection if you were of race 'broadsword'. (I asked MG about that, and was told that should have been 'Elf'.)) Nobody knew what I#1161 (Gem of Drakkenkind) was. One respondent speculated (on the basis of analogous items for other races) that it turned its user into a Drakken. I#716 (Size M Wizards Robes) are worn in lieu of armor, and give +5 DF, +5 MAR, and bonuses to magic research and mana recovery. It's not clear whether or not the wearer must be a Wizard. I#1005 (Seers' Orb) is a step up from the seers' crystal. Actually, I've gotten different answers on this. One person said it gave +5 to seer's skill, another that it gave +5 spell points (as opposed to +3 for the crystal), and extra bonuses on certain seer spells. My other question about the arrest order got some responses too. A modest number of guards will ordinarily suffice to arrest a character, but there are large penalties if the character has covert skills -- and huge penalties if the character is a monster. ----- Dani Zweig dani@netcom.com Aphorism is better than none.
