DM: A new ADM split From: crip@eebbs.isis.org (Garth Werner) Date: Mon, 28 Sep 1992 21:43:51 +0000 OK, I've never really been one to understand how RSI decides who should be Inducted to Primus, Who is eligible for Primus, who is eligible for Home Guard, and the non-committers, those who can't go anywhere but there regionals. Well, this latest round pre-tourney announcement really baffled me. (The following only concerns those warriors who I actually run in AD) For the past six months, I've been running 3 inducted warriors, 3 primus eligible warriors, 4 Home Guardians (AAuugga!), and 6 other ADM warriors. Now the three inductees remain inducted, and I'm not the least surprised at that. I did think that my 46-24 PL would get inducted with its 118 skills, but it remained eligible. Likewise my 41-19 115 skill parry-rip remained eligible, despite my fears that he would be inducted. A 45-38 lunger maxed out on skills and then some, also remains eligible, which is what I figured, as his record is pudly and I'd retire him immediately if he were to be forced into Primus. Now my 40-37 Waste who I figure is at 119 skills, and just went 9-1 in the Orlando tournament and was Primus eligible a year and a half ago, remains a non-commiter again this time, and I figured there would be at least eligibility coming. A 27-15 100 skill lunger is Primus eligible though (not a god-lunger either). Then a 29-7, 60 skill TP is eligible for primus as well, despite going only 1-3 in the Orlando Tourney? (I'm so confused) Then there's the 120 skill 35-38 Parry-rip who stays in Home Guard, along with a 32-38 Basher and a 32-31 striker, all as expected. I also expected my 28-24 Parry Lunge to go to the GUard, which he did, not because of his 110 skills, but because he is 3-13 in his last 16 arena fights. Also going to the guard is a 28-14 TP with 90 skills. The only warrior who was in Home guard who is forced to leave is a 29-19 Lunger, but this I expected, as 6 months ago he was 21-17 with 61 skills, and he is now up to 88 skills(13 attack and 6 decise in there), a substantial difference. The only other active AD warrior I have is a 24-12 Waste, who was simply given the choice of regional or 100. Now his record is insignificant, however he has only lost 1 fight since coming to AD at 16-11. So what does it all mean? Well despite the spyreporters cries that the system was modified, I don't think it was all that major. As you can tell from the above examples, it is still your overall w/l records that will be the determining factor in deciding whether or not your characters go to Primus or Home GUard. But then why didn't my 46-24 and 41-19 warrriors get inducted. Well this is where my theory comes in. They are not really that strong as warriors. Sure they win, but they pick their fights wisely. Eligibility may come with Great winning %'s, but induction will now only occur if you have rather high skill ratings to go with them. With so many god-like characters coming up the rankings, the mediocre characters may never get forced to primus, as it's begining to look like RSI may set a criteria and rank the warriors saying only the top x% of the warriors get in. As more and more god-warriors come close to maxing out, it will push the old vets down and down the priority list. Just a passing thought, other opinions are expected, its time to stimulate some discussion.
