PBEM News and RPG Library trustees From: Brandon Blackmoor <bblackmoor@blackgate.net> Date: Wed, 01 Feb 2006 18:10:19 +0000 At the moment, RPB Library <http://www.rpglibrary.org/> and PBEM News <http://www.rpglibrary.org/news/> are run by and paid for by one person: me. But I have started thinking about what will happen to PBEM News and RPG Library is something were to happen to me (many, many years from now). I don't know how many people actually *rely* on either RPG Library or PBEM News, but I do know that the sites receive thousands of visitors. I don't want these people to be left stranded if I get hit by a bus (many, many years from now). I want RPG Library and PBEM News to be useful gaming resources long after I am gone. With that in mind, I want to find a small of group of people that will help administer PBEM News and RPG Library, and who will promise to take over their expenses if something happens to me. I'm going to call these the RPG Library Trustees. Being a trustee will pay nothing, and have no material benefits -- in fact, if something happens to me, it will actually cost a trustee money, because the expense of the site will fall on them. So this isn't for anyone. Here are the qualifications for a RPG Library Trustee: 1) Be willing to take over the cost of hosting RPG Library and PBEM News in the event of my death or disappearance. 2) Agree that PBEM News and RPG Library will remain free of charge and free of advertising forever. 3) Be a competent PHP programmer. 4) Be willing to devote a few minutes each day to check RPG Library, to add or validate submitted links, and to check existing links from time to time to make sure they still work. 5) Be willing to devote a few minutes each day to check PBEM News, to assist people who have questions, and to remove spam or inappropriate posts. If you think you fit these qualifications, please go to: http://www.rpglibrary.org/news/viewtopic.php?t=225 Thank you for your time. -- bblackmoor@spamcop.net 2006-02-01 Up
