Olympia

My heart bleeds heavily for Olympia since I have not seen it for weeks. It
is so unfortunate that the Olympia rewrite might be in jeopardy since
Rick has not seen my message I hope Olympia II will return better, and
bigger then Olympia I. Olympia had its problems like all PeBM games, but
it was a good game that a lot of people enjoyed.

Ok here comes the other part of my letter. I do not know the proper unix
format for writing a program that can edit my mail file. Basically I want
a program that will take any message with a certain suject, and append it
to a file in my home directory. Most of you will plainly see the use for
this program as it allows me to then download the program to my home
computer, and run a game there. I know that this may seem slightly
backwards, but my unix account access has a bad habit of changing, and
the compilers suck in general. I would rather recompile a small piece of
patch code then an entire game. I do not particularely want a long string
of comments about compilers etc. That is not really my point. I am more
interested in writing a game then a flame war.

So basically my offer is this. Should someone write me a program that
will edit my mail file, and append all of the moves into a central file
I will write a game. I am not sure along what lines the game will fall
yet, but I am thinking of along the lines of Olympia should Olympia
not be rewritten or possibly a player-player combat game. I am sure
that many people will get enjoyment out of the game, because I know
of two people personally who got great enjoyment out of Olympia. I
also know of a few more who would liked to have joined Olympia, but
there were no newbies for the longest time, and then the game just died.
