Since you asked... :)

I was in two Alamaze games, recommending it here, and having a good time
until about a year and a half ago.  In a period of about 2 or 3 turns
(per game), I had 3 or 4 _major_ input errors occur.  The worst was
when (on turn 2) I transferred 4000 gold to my teammate, and the typist
added a zero and transferred my whole treasury!  I got a lot out of the
problem sheet, but after a few of those I felt like the game wasn't
about strategy, it was about who could get the most out of the GM for
the errors.  I quit about that time.  I've still never received the
money left in my account at Pegasus. (OK, I haven't pursued it very hard,
but the one request _should_ have done it.)

So I guess I'm curious, have these problems kept up?  Someone on the
net also complained about a lot of program errors, but I never encountered
many of these.

If you like fantasy wargame PBMs, you might want to give Adventurer Kings
a try.  It's not quite as complicated as Alamaze, but it's cheaper, more
flexible (IMHO), _far_ better run, and more fun (definitely IMHO).

On the other hand, if you want _more_ complicated than Alamaze, I've
heard good things about Legends (many of them here on the net).  I've
never had the time, money, and courage to try it, but there are a
number of players here who I'm sure would be happy to provide information.

Let me know how Pegasus is doing these days. I'm curious to hear if
they're still as awful as they once were.
