Duelmasters -- Question on PL's... From: johnjohn@cco.caltech.edu (John White) Date: Sat, 31 Oct 1992 17:18:33 +0000 Hey, no one ever called me stupid. So we have the manager of both M. Lee's on the net now. What a perfect time to ask a question on parry-lunges... So here's my open question to all of you people on the net: How do you run a parry-lunge throughout the various stages of his/her career? My sole living parry-lunge is an 11-11(1)-5-17-17-7-17 warrior who is currently in the Champions with a 16-14-1 record (or something like that). Now, I realize that I have a pretty good warrior on my hands here, but he seems unable to have a strong record... So here's what I've tried. At the beginning of his career, I tried going out dodging, which worked semi-decently if he happened to match up with an offensive. If not... I tried going 10-10-6 for a while. Lukewarm response. Record stayed about even. As he got more fights, and got more skilled, I noticed he had more parry skills than anything, so I started running him with a slow desperation, especially when he pulled his master. I originally tried something like 2-3-3-P, but that seems really slow, since he has a Master attack, AdEx Init+5, and AdEx Defense +3 or so. Right now, I'm experimenting with going 5-5-5-P in desp... Also trying to work out an offensive strategy for him. With no decise rating, _all_ offensives jump him, so going 10-10 seems a bit silly. I tried going 10-5 or 9-3, but that still didn't seem to help out his parry. He still got nailed.... I just got a turn back where he was running 8-4-6-x and jumped a lunger. Hmmm... So, all. What are your comments on my strategies? Suggestions? Critisisms?
