SFACS PeBM game

A couple of quick notes. Not all of the warriors or warrior wannabe's are
yet in the mailing list. If you wish to be in the mailing list please send
in your mail address in a message. You heard right elm strips off your
address, and places your name in the from field instead. It saves me time if
you write me a message withi eg: wool8657@mach1.wlu.ca instead.

This game is open. Anyone can join at any time unless my hard disk fills up,
which is rather unlikely. I am going to limit the number of warriors to 2
however. You can even play by SnailMail if you really want to, but there
will be shipping charges if you wish to play that way. Big hint: If you do
not recieve some kind of update every two days or so you probably aren't in
the mailing list. I also tend to remove people from the mailing list if
their mail bounces. You may get removed from the mailing list at any time if
this happens. All mail should recieve a response which is essentially a
run-down of what you did to your warrior. You will receive responses, and
you can run a warrior even if you aren't on the mailing list. The mailing
list is more for rule updates, and news. Remeber that show will give you a
look at your warrior again, and most people will find that they have more
information as they do various things with their warriors. For example if
you have weapons a show command will show you which weapons, and where they
are. BTW Don't worry most peoples' beginning skill with any weapon is
pathetic. You have to build yourself up as you go along.

Now for the fun stuff. The first full battle will be held Sunday night.
Every player will get pitted against someone of their own level. And there
will be a big fight-off. Since no one knows anyone else yet there will be no
choice on who you fight. Your warrior will only be fought if you have sent
in a move. This will be standard for every week. A simple warrior xx command
will set the boolean variable that puts you into the competition. Hopefully
there will also be a challenge command, but I haven't fully decided how to
handle it. Also I have only one news article so far. I was hoping for a few
more. Let's see some people write something about their powerfully warriors
out there :-) Also please remember that the game is in developement. Soon
there will be armour for all of the warriors, and other fun toys, but right
now the game is a little simplistic. Remember your comments to me on your
moves will really help me make the game better.

Another quick note: I will be changing over to a UUCP connection for my
local mail in the near future. Hopefully with that I will finally be able to
fully auto-mate, which means that moves can be processed a lot faster.
Rather then once per night I might be able to process once every 4 hours or
something along those lines. I will process just before the fight on Sunday
night of course.
