What "secrets" on Strikers? From: burgesmw@cnsvax.uwec.edu Date: Mon, 02 Nov 1992 18:08:20 +0000 My secrets on Strikers?!? Ha!! Never will I help these people!! Crystar Sorry, but I had to jump back into my role-playing of an arrogant manager. On my Striker secrets I'll have to try and remember that far back... Well, one of my best Strikers was 11-6-4-17-17-16-13 (I believe that is 84 points), but did not start with any experts. The characters name was Cyndre and she was from arena 37. I don't remember much about her since I gave away six of my warriors when I left (actually, I was supposed to receive some money for them, but I still haven't...). There wasn't much of a secret with Strikers. Many people like to say that you do not need the high speed, but I always tried to have a 13 or higher. Strength is really not needed for Strikers. If you put your points into Wit, Will, Speed, and Dex, then you should have a decent Striker. I wouldn't go higher than a 13 Dex, but try to have a 11 at the lowest. If you have a good Dex, consider some other styles. Do not go above a 17 Speed if you can help it or it will hurt you in other areas. A lot of people say that Speed is a worthless stat, but I noticed that it really helps you get the jump on people and maintain a constant attack. I usually ran my Strikers 10-10-6-Decisiveness in the beginning. Once they have some skills, I would go to 10-10-10-NONE. That is all for minute one. I would usually run 10-7-10 for minute 2. From then on I would run 6-3-6. It seems slow, but most of my Strikers seemed to like it. Once I got a Striker that had a good amount of skills, I would look for TP's to challenge. I always loved running 6-3-6 against them and just pepper them with attacks. Of course this was before all these "offensive TP's". If any of you are in AD and in Andorak, I used to run Aileen. Her stats and skills are bad, yet she wins a lot. I don't know why, but it was remarkable. I also ran Storm (from arean 48). His only losses in regular arena (15 wins, 3 losses) came from a 50 fight Striker and a 30 fight Basher. The reason for this is because he wouldn't learn decisiveness skills. He always learned parry!! He went to AD with only an expert in decisiveness and I believe parry. Well, I can see I am not talking about the "secrets" of Strikers. There are none!! It is all a matter of design and strategy as I mentioned. Make challeges vs those experienced, many losses characters and rape them for skills. The best weapon for a striker is a Scimitar. Now, if you don't seem to do well with it, then change to something else. Do not give them the large weapons!! Once your in AD, you will know your favorite weapon, but always remember that the Scimitar is a good fast weapon if you need it. I promise that you will make critical attacks with it. Strikers have some innate ability to win. I never advanced one very far into AD, so I am not sure how they would have done at those stages. Sure Mike Lee, make me try and remember stuff from over a year ago... :) If you have any questions, post 'em and I will answer 'em. I usually give better answers when I have some direct questions on a subject. (and I'll try not to babble on).
