So you propose an extended arena game, where fighters are promoted to MechWarriors? My "original" idea was thinking it upside down: consider the Galaxy. Each player is a mercenary unit. He/She starts with his lance of 4 'mechs, and 4 MechWarriors. If they do well in battle, their stats improve. They gain fame, glory & money, and with this, they are able to get better contracts. Soon the lance grows... But I thought of placing the emphasis on the global economical game, and not on the battlefield ("arena") itself. The "atomic" unit in the game would be the 'mech, and not its MechWarrior (but the MechWarrior would still exist!). That is, players develop their merc units by improving their 'mechs, and not by buying "expensive weaponry" for their MechWarriors... Why so? Well, I must say (and I risk here my head, with all those DM-fans around) I don't care much for arena-type PBeMs... this may be a cause of prejudice, I admit... - Luis Sequeira _________________________________________________________________________ / / _/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ Computer scientists do it byte by byte. _/ _/_/ _/_/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ God created Law and Order from Chaos, _/ _/ _/ _/ but Chaos was created by computer _/_/_/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ scientists. bc@fccn.pt Luis Miguel Sequeira Laboratorio Nacional de Engenharia Civil Phone 351-1-8482131 Ext. 2752 Centro Informatica/Grupo Sistemas Centrais "Don't call me, I'll call you" Av.
