Mutation.

It is the key to our evolution. It has enabled us to evolve from a
single-celled organism into the dominant species on the planet. This
process is slow, normally taking thousands and thousands of years.
But every few hundred millennia, evolution leaps forward�

In the years following the destruction of the Alkali Lake facility and
the tragic death of Jean Grey, the X-Men's lives seemed to be on a
wild roller coaster ride. First a few months after her supposed death
Jean returned,even more powerful then ever. It was an event that
seemed to usher in a new era, as more mutants seemed to appear out of
nowhere. Some where like the X-Men, fighting to defend those that were
threatened by others. But as is most offten true where you have those
that are good, you als have those that are evil. There was a rise in
evil mutant activity which actually brought the Mutant Registration
Act to the for front, only It was only the strong activist movement
led by Professor Charles F. Xavier that was able to put enough
pressure to keep the act from being passed, however the secret of
Charles' genetic history was revealed to the public as well as the
truth that his School is a place taht takes in mutants and teaches
them to use their powers..

As our game begins, 6 years have passed since Alkali Lake, in
Washington D.C. a new law is before the House of Representatives and
the Senate for consideration. This law will ensure the rights of
mutants as normal citizens within the United States. Professor Xavier
and his closest confidants have been asked to D.C. by Senator Clinton
to witness the momentous event. Not only are all the journalists in
the country there to report on this event, but every major news
source in the world has sent representitives.
