But we could have been prejudice. Is there anything the 30 men >could have done besides run? There weren't many trees they could climb upon >and jump on him and there were not many leaves on the trees because it was >springtime. It depends if you play strictly "by the rules" or if you play somewhat realistically. If you play realistically, the Count wouldn't have a chance. If I were running the thieves and fighters, I'd do the following... While the Count was in the air, the thieves would head for the shadows and the fighters would all join together and hold thier shields over their heads. (I've never seen a dagger or dart that could penetrate a decent shield) When the Count turned invisible and started picking up the darts and daggers, the fighters and thieves would round up the ones they could. Eventually, the Count would run out of ammo. Once the Count ran out of ammo, he either has to run or fight with his sword. If he fights with the sword, even 10 1st and 2nd level thieves and fighters should be able to take him out... Did this fight take place in the forest or a town? Either way, if the warriors or thieves had any blankets on/nearby them, they could use those as either a useful shield (try holding a blanket outstretched and throw a dart through it) or a net to ensnare the Count. Or did the fighters/thieves have any rope? One character with rope-use or a lasso proficiency could easily trap the Count's legs and drag him to the ground. Well, it's just a few ideas....it really depends on if you run the NPC fighters and thieves as dumb NPC's or how you would run them if they were your own character... Phil -------------- Good ideas, but remember, these are low level people. Advanced tachniques wouldn't be in their heads. Plus a 18/40 strength could break ropes even if they did lasso him, or just pull the person up with him. They failed their morale check in the game I was playing after he slew the leader and a couple of others. They had armor, few shields, and moslty daggers and swords, and rope. I think they actually tried to lasso him, but after one or two attempts they quit. None of them had lassoing proficiency. Up
