Legends: skills & spells From: lee@torrid.ogo.dec.com (wooga wooga wooga) Date: Mon, 01 Mar 1993 16:27:05 +0000 How do the higher level "meta"-spells work for priests. i.e. suppose a priest has been granted the Eye of Patterns spell (rating 4), and wants to cast a Detect Spells: Character spell (rating 1), which has not been granted individually. Does the priest have to be level 20 (4 * 5) or level 5 (1 * 5) in order to cast it? Also, I have questions about a couple of skills: Bard -- sounds like they can bless/curse characters, gather flora like Rangers, and somehow acquire rumors & myth information. Is this correct? Can they make poisons or healing draughts? Assassin -- Are they somehow able to avoid duels? Or do they just have some special attack that allows them to attack an individual without starting a duel? Can they make poisons, or is it only assassin _guilds_ which can do this? Spy -- Are they able to discern information about characters/locations that others can't, or what? (the description for this skill seems quite nebulous) Stealth -- How generally useful is this? What does it do? Is it necessary for all the characters in a group to have stealth, or can one character who has it "cloak" the rest of them? Ranger -- Can they make healing draughts, or is it only ranger _guilds_ which can do this? Finally, how helpful is it for an arcanist to have a familiar?
